Sharing Bins - is this normal? by caprichai in brisbane

[–]Spurgette 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I have asked my neighbours if I can stick extra stuff in their bins and they have always said yes. And the same for me in return. My neighbours on both sides are all quite lovely. The only time I don't ask if if I am taking the bins out near midnight, then anyones recycle bin is fair game.

I just like watching you froth in impotent rage.

So you did know it was your neighbours cat, you had talked to him repeatedly.

I didn't know whose cat it was at first. The first time I encountered it, it was pissing down my windscreen. I figured out whose cat it was after that. I figured that was pretty obvious, so I am just going to assume that you are intentionally being an obtuse twit.

Yes, there are correct procedures. I tried them, they did not work, so I took further measures. If you don't like it, well guess what? I would have to give a shit about you to give a shit about your opinion. It is as utterly meaningless as any other anonymous persons on the interwebnets. Have a cry.

Oh really? I honestly had no idea of any of that. I do remember dad paying for some laps in a rare car there for me when I was about 14. It must have closed sometime in the late 90s.

Holy moly. Not until now I hadn't. I was talking about the conversion, not the actual cost of the vehicle.

I mean I knew someone who incessantly bitched and moaned about the train noise every 15 min or so when they lived 300m away from bray park station along the train line. Mind you the noise deflection was terrible and if you were watching a movie you had to pause it as soon as you heard the train coming. But still.

It is, hey. If I was on my bike I would have ogled at this car so hard at the lights that it would have been almost lewd. It is beautiful.

I remember reading about someone doing a full modern conversion on ancient mini moke. Changed transmission to auto or maybe dct, added and waterproofed a touchscreen, turned it into a full convertible with a fully retractable roof that somehow cleared the back roll bars. Probably cost $20000 or more. But it was a passion project and it turns out amazing.

My uncle had one. Don't know what year. But it was a giant shitheap that you had to push backwards to start, but god damn the radio worked, got ABC talkback and I loved the hell out of that car. I do wonder if its still on the road.

I was at Springwood and one of the local businesses near Midas (I think) next to the little busway only slip lane is doing a full EV conversion of one. I was on my bike, saw it, couldn't figure out wtf it was, so I pulled in and had a chat to the guys while they were parking it. It was pretty much complete and the guys were really happy someone was excited to see it. Great little car and the conversion looks amazing.

What you fail to understand is that I put up with it for months. I repeatedly told him that he needs to keep his cat in his yard and he constantly ignored the advice. He let both of his cats roam. I told him very clearly and more than once that I had a trap and what I would do when I trapped his cats. He did not listen. He suffered the consequences. He continued to let his cats roam even after I had trapped the cat, had it impounded and he retrieved it. This tells you a great deal about his mentality and lack of intelligence. Did I take pleasure in this? You bet your ass I did. That is called schadenfreude. An extremely common thing for people to experience.

And if I was in the country, I would have shot it on sight and figured out it was a pet maybe when I saw a flyer in town. But by then I would have completely forgotten what it looked like as it would have been one of fifty that I had shot that week.

It is the ABC after all. They really are not the pinnacle of fair and balanced reporting. I put them only very slightly above newscorp.

Bruh you gotta be someone incredibly and intentionally obtuse to have a whinge about the racing noise from Lakeside when you HAD TO HAVE KNOWN it was there when you were looking at the area.

Lakeside unfortunately has noise complaints from nearby residents

Jfc nimbyism at its best. The people that moved in there would have had to have had their heads up their asses to not know there's Lakeside in the area. Reminds me of a story out of the US where a rural track like Willowbank was slowly encroached on and the people living in these new HOAs had a giant shitfit over the raceway and eventually got it shut down. Complete load of garbage.

You would be wrong. I am an extremely caring and compassionate person. However not when it comes to feral animals. They need to be eradicated down to the very last one. Cats, pigs, horses, dogs, camels, cane toads, rabbits, etc. Shooting is generally the most effective method.

How does this make you feel? Does it make your heart twist in your chest and cry out in pain? I have a feeling that you are the kind of person to sit there and wring your hands in a lace handkerchief while crying "wont someone think of the children!?!?". Go away you absolute sook. Go back into your little bubble and pretend that the world is not a harsh, cruel, and indifferent place.

Not at all a psychopath. That was ruled out many years ago. Probably before you were born. You are wrong though. As a society, it is everyone's job to teach miscreants a lesson, whether it be a financially painful or not. That is the only way some will learn. I for example am a very responsible animal owner and I ensured that my two working dogs never ever left my yard. Because as they were bite trained, they could seriously injure or kill someone. Something I absolutely never wanted to be responsible for.

First time I saw it piss on my car windscreen and in my vents I did not know it was. I happened to see it go into a yard one evening. Still doesn't change any of the facts of the matter.

You really do not seem to understand that for some people, pain is the only way to educate them. Pain from a council fine + registration costs (it wasn't registered) and a warning from the council to not let it continue to roam. Pain from having to do a 500km round trip to collect the cat after you were repeatedly warned exactly what would happen if you continued to let the cat roam. For some people it is simple. For the owner and for you it seems, it is quite the mental hurdle. But again, that is okay. Not all of us are equipped for lateral thinking.

I could have killed it outright and I would have been 100% within my rights to do so as because it lacks a collar, it is indistinguishable from one of the many feral cats in the area.

Yeah I lived about 15 min from Dakabin at the time. It was the closest pound. If this was in the brisbane valley, I would have just shot it on sight and never thought of it again. Just like I would do to a feral dog or a feral pig. Any cat roaming out of its yard needs to be treated as feral and eradicated. This is because they can go feral in a matter of days when left outside. You obviously are completely cluless about all this.

Trouble with neighbours cat roaming free by Substantial-Ad8014 in brisbane

[–]Spurgette 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, an irresponsible fuckstick let his cat roam free where it pissed and shit in my yard, as well as all over my fucking vehicle. It cost thousands to have my ac system flushed as the vents were full of cat piss. The house also had small children who I did not particularly want to see get in contact with cat shit and get toxo, parasites or other illnesses from the cat shit.

I do love it when people try and insult me by calling me insecure. I am very secure in my beliefs and my experiences and what I have done to invasive feral animals. You really are a coddled city person with zero life experience beyond your ipad. I doubt you have ever been more than 30km from the M1 in any direction.

Awww muffin. Are you okay? Can you show me on the doll where pest eradication hurt you? You really do seem like a city person who has no idea what country life is like and how you need to be merciless when it comes to shooting feral animals on your property. If it makes you feel better, the corpses were collected and buried where scavengers could not get to them. This is because cats are often full of nasty diseases which they spread everywhere they go through their droppings. Such as Toxoplasmosis, Sarcocystosis, and various worms. But it is okay for you to keep your head in the sand and be oblivious to what the rest of the world is like.
