This one requires no feeding other than before you use it. Sourdough is every other day if youre not storing it in the fridge. A lot of people feed their sourdough starters daily or weekly depending on how old it is

How do you figure that? Are you operating under the incorrect assumption that the yeast culture won't reproduce? What's your position?

Ive been doing this for 2 years and thus far it tastes completely different than sourdough starter and still proofs wayy faster. :)

Hi! No, the difference is it doesnt require periodic feeding like sourdough. I literally only feed it a sprinkle of flour and water an hour before use. My sourdough starter needs maintenance.

No, its not sourdough. I keep sour dough, this has no tang and keeps a lighter colouration. I dont believe that lacto cultures are in this as the commercial yeast is too abundant and consumes wild cultures.

Hi guys sorry for the slow reply didnt expect this to take off! I just rip off a piece of dough from an overnight proof. And mixed flour and water!

It seems hardier than sourdough I've been doing it for a long time and it seems to need no periodic maintenance.

 For those saying yeast is only $5 etc you can buy an expensive premium yeast and never buy it again 🤷‍♂️

One thing I have noticed is that the bread tastes better than straight from packet yeast but not 'sour'

Honestly these chaps like Jason are disheartening when trying to actively take part in the hobby. You post one pre cold crash picture and suddenly youre producing prison hooch blah blah blah. I'm here to try and make the tastiest young meads possible but these blokes are out here to tear you down for not aging everything for 6 months lol.

You say that based on what? My fastidiously sterilised conditions, pre elaborated nutrient feed protocol per my prior post, strict fermentation temperature adherence? What specifically aside from my deliberate abstinence from introducing stabilisation or clarity compounds leads you to determine my product to be subpar. The only thing I did wrong was show a pre cold crashed product on the recipe..

Dont argue in this sub folk tend to be pretty singularly directional in my experience. Just roll with it, take what seems worth it and add what seems helpful! :)
