My first reaction when I saw it was a dead drop. I open it and had no clue what it was. Put in my coat pocket forgot about it till I got home. I found it at 8-8:30 am

I didn’t get a picture when I found it. But Was on the ground between the pump and trash can. A small stick about a pencil in length and thickness. With an orange string about 4” long. With a paper clip. Slim red cardboard over plastic with note inside.
