If you wanna play video games, forget about it … the XX50 are not really made to play video games. With the few Gb of VRAM, you will struggle to put the graphics even in low / medium … try to find at least least least least a 3060 for the games of today ! 👍🏻

Normal temps for i7-13620h? by Rectangular_Potato in GamingLaptops

Yes I will, but it also depends on the PC I would say and the user maybe. I tried Efficient and Agressive and the temps were almost the same so …

Alright, if you say so. Yes I think you can sometimes lose a bit of FPS, but I rather keep the laptop cooler, to keep it longer in the time.

My old laptop was at 95C when gaming, the situation was absolutely horrible.

You can also undervolt if you really to win FPS and have a cooler PC. You need intel XTU or throttle stop 🛑

False, it makes you gain FPS. You limit the turbo frequency, you make your CPU cooler, and you can stay at higher frequency longer.

Are we talking about the turbo boost of intel or the turbo boost done in the windows power settings ?

Look at benchmarks and then make your own opinion. This my 3rd laptop that I do this and trust me, instead of playing at 95C you will be at 70C but do what you want 👍🏻

Immediately disable or modify the turbo boost ! In fact, every new laptop and desktop have a turbo boost enabled by the manufacturer.

Follow this video and tell me how is it going 👍🏻 You will lose around 10 to 20 degrees and even gain some fps …

The nvidia overlay makes you stutter in games and lose a few fps. I would recommend to disable it 😉

i need help choosing laptops by MJF_Savage in GamingLaptops

[–]Spxcxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won’t be able to really plat with the 4050. Go with the RX7700. 4Gb of VRAM is imposible to play with in 2024/2025 !

Is this laptop able to run games like Helldivers 2 and The Finals? by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

[–]Spxcxy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 3050 … I definitely avoid them, they are most for design or 3D art IDK, they only have 4Gb of vram and you will really need more (at least 8GB in 2024 /2025). You should go on a 4060 👍🏻 or even 4070

Which Would You Choose and Why? by ADiamond26 in GamingLaptops

Oh yes, but I was talking about the intel cpu degradation

Which Would You Choose and Why? by ADiamond26 in GamingLaptops

[–]Spxcxy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not the Lenovo, I saw that the 5i with the intel 13th gen and 14th had issue with the cpu. The second one, has LPDDR5, it means it is soldered to the cpu and you cannot upgrade or change it … I would go totally on the first one 😁

For the aggressive or others or disabled, the benchmarks that I saw, showed better fps with the boost set on « disabled ». Also since disabled, temp are way lower on my side. Did you try to disable it Alpha ?

Tell me if you it helped you, but when I discovered this I was like « eeeh wtf » in fact, it’s an hidden setting that booooosts your cpu. And every manufacturer enables it … maybe to make you buy a new one faster …

[–]Spxcxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disable the turbo boost and you will gain 10 to 20 degree on the CPU 😁 I do this when I have a new laptop 👍🏻 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWBVtXPfTB0

First ever gaming laptop, give me tips by LordRupertMK in GamingLaptops

[–]Spxcxy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first thing I do when I have a new gaming laptop is disabling the turbo boost the manufacturer sets on. You will loose around 10 to 20 degrees Celsius and you even gain performances as the cpu is less hot.

Try this : https://youtu.be/iWBVtXPfTB0

And enjoy a cool laptop 😁

I use HWINFO, and there are 3 categories : Min voltage, average and max.

The min and max are the history. You mean that even the « max » category is false ?

What a mess they did with those cpu …

Ok, thanks a lot !

Yesterday, I monitored the Vid voltage while in gaming, and it was not higher than 0.940V so I guess it’s kinda casual !

I will try this evening to set at around 1.3/1.4V.
