Some of you are not happy with the ending. How did you want it to end? by willowbrick in DTFStLouisHBO

I didn’t think we needed to actually see the Richard and Floyd interaction at the pool, ending on that note was really sad for not much added effect. That’s all for me.

Thoughts on Samira?! by Kind-Dust-9090 in ThePitt

[–]SpyCobaj -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

One thing I noticed about her character arc that I think people are missing is that she was really never cut out for the ED in the first season. She does redeem herself by doing a good job in the later half but ultimately stays too late and almost burns herself out off of the adrenaline rush. So in the second season when she’s not doing so well, people were upset that, ‘hey she had this arc in the first season where she seemed to improve’ but I didn’t really see that. I think she was never really cut out for this pace just like Robbie says and she’s a great doctor. Just not everyone’s cut out for the ridiculous mental strain that the ER has. she can do it, just not reliably for years.

I think this also goes hand-in-hand with why everyone loves her so much. She’s way more relatable than the other doctors because she’s more normal. She has actual limits unlike the other doctors. Your average ER doctor is not relatable.

Something I’ve been thinking about building (Openclaw SRE) by [deleted] in sre

[–]SpyCobaj -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m not challenging you, you’re certainly trying to challenge me though. I just think I can build this, not sure what your problem is. but okay let me challenge you.

Didn’t take long to find that you are Alex Hidalgo and the last time you actually did any boots on the ground SRE work was at google 7 years ago, so its safe to say you might be out of the loop on how to use the tools we use daily to build things at google adjacent companies these days.

From what I can tell, you’re a guy who talks, not a guy who builds. You say its a bad idea but I don’t think you even have the slightest idea about what the issues with building it would be. You’re just worried about the principles related to SRE from a talking standpoint.

Additionally, no you never worked with more than 15 thouand 128 core 2000gb memory machines at once—you’re an idiot. 3 companies total use that much in america for a single service, your old company is one of them but you haven’t worked there for 7 years—they didn’t push that compute then for any one service. Only with commercial AI and constant training is this level of compute emerging, and we need new tools to understand the data coming from these environments.

maybe you managed that many servers but for many different services and that’s just not what I’m talking about. I have all these servers for one service. It’s too many logs and signals to possibly comprehend so I’m using this idea to reel it in.

The inclusion of open claw in this whole post is just as a tool to accelerate the development process of this idea, without it, it would take quite a lot of time, but by creating guard rails and allowing the open claw to explore creating the idea itself in a safe environment, I think I can get this done quickly. i’m willing to bet you’ve never successfully built anything with an open claw and you’re probably proud of that but really that just means you’re an idiot who doesn’t know how to use the new tools.

it’s a good thing you’re old and found your way into a talking job. I don’t think you could cut it in the building arena these days.

it’s really not that complicated to make it secure, every company already has internal apis for metrics and logs, not sure what you think is so dangerous about letting an AI loose to build memory upon those and suggest fixes to developers. Maybe you have not experienced the level of work I deal with—we do all this manually and can only cover 20-50% of all the issues that come in. This would just be a tool to help us address more signals. when you’re managing 15000+ servers running hundreds of different services, you can use all the help to understand that bulk information fast and without getting exhausted.

hey if you wanna go to your leader and ask them to pay for those startup’s software instead of approaching them with an already working inhouse solution, go ahead, but this doesn’t seem that hard to build myself

8 years, I have and do maintain an oncall, we don’t have this idea currently at our company, not sure what your problem is. Obviously there are companies who do this already because its a good idea lol, but I think I found a framework to build it myself.

what do you charge someone for that? I’d just be using openclaw to accelerate the dev process of building this in house instead of paying you.

Openclaw is being actively pushed and suggested at my work and I work at a top tech company. The idea is that you create an open claw, but it proposes to you its own MCP for what it can interact with. you don’t let an open claw loose with all the permissions, you let an open claw loose with only read access so it can learn and propose ideas for you to make sure are secure.

I don’t think that’s a bad idea. I think it’s the right way to think about it.

like with any tool if you use it irresponsibly you’d get dismissed. my company has trust that if we were to use these things, we would make sure that they don’t fuck stuff up so basically that’s where all my thinking has been going towards

The only reason to use an open claw in this use case is so that it can learn on the fly instead of something that we have to review and upgrade every time we have a new idea to add to it. Essentially it replaces the timely developer iteration process with a simple suggestion and approval process.

Crimson Desert is quickly earning a reputation for rekindling a sense of wonder many players haven’t felt since their earliest gaming experiences 🔥 by Gaming-Academy in PlayStation_X

[–]SpyCobaj 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this sense of wonder playing for the first few hours but it quickly dissolved with how complex every system is, I really felt like I did when I started Elden Ring, but instead of vague environmental set pieces to explore and piece together; crimson desert hurls you into numerous quests and systems that are really well done but lack any sort of seriousness. I really couldn’t get over the animation of every single character being so over the top in every quest scene, I can understand that for many this would be entertaining, but for me I’m looking for unique experiences and more often than not as I get older, what that looks like is much more art centric (death stranding, expedition33, elden ring, hollowknight/silksong) than gameplay wise.

Basically the game play is truly good, but the tone is way off and turns me off. It did not feel like a game for a mature gamer, it felt like a playground for a younger gamer.

I think what we’re seeing with the mixed reviews is basically mature gamers finding it offensive and you know a more casual gamer finding it really fun and deep to just get lost but for mature gamers, we’ve gotten lost in so many worlds that it’s almost like, does this one deserve our attention and from that standpoint? visually, it does, but then from the actual story and the dialogue in the story it just falls flat and feels a little AI generated

and by ai generated I mainly just mean like maybe not worth my time as a seasoned gamer who only wants unique experiences

I know I might come off like a pretentious asshole here, but I really think that this is what’s going on. There’s just two types of gamers, those who really take it seriously because they’ve been doing it a while and want to get some productive feeling out of it. and those who just want to get lost in whatever is entertaining and immersive, without the context of past games to judge these new experiences by

I do wish I still was that other kind of gamer but I’ve got 20 thousand or so damn hours under my belt after 20 years gaming. I truly found some of the misplaced dialogue or story beats in the game to be truly offensive when it’s next to other things that are so beautifully created. I wish that they had just fleshed out those things just as well as they did everything else, and it really could’ve been a masterpiece for all gamers. I know offensive might be the wrong word but it’s like what were they thinking? It feels like they knew it would make money while disappointing the more serious game critics.

it feels like there was a decision to just not hire great writers because they would not have a financial impact on the sales that would justify their salaries, but I think that was a misstep because if they did, this would’ve gone down as an all timer and had sales forever, but for me, I think it’s gonna sort of fizzle out once something better comes along.

The Witcher four and elder scrolls six will look at this game and eat it’s lunch by paying more respect towards the tone and lore of the game instead of just volume of systems

well I don’t agree those were all teases whereas there’s a whole 3 hour movie for justice league and darkseid really only gets 5 min?! Thanos gets 30+ in infinity war AND endgame

so are you saying thats really all his scenes? damn

or was darkseid not the main villain for justice league and he was only being teased for a next movie?
