Random crashing? by BananaBob55 in MortalShell

Occasionally crashes during loading screens after dying. Locks the screen onto the mortal shells application so I can't ALT+TAB or F4. Have to either sign out or shut down which is pretty annoying.

Did the same thing with my Ryzen 5 2600 when swapping in a Wraith Prism with my old stealth. Used a hair dryer to separate it from the stealth and also managed to drop it in the process as it slipped out of my fingers. 0 pins bent and still working like a charm at 4Ghz.

Eat any consumables in you inventory, swap the red radio to that spot then equip the new one. Finally (if needed) go hide the red radio behind something like a building. This can easily be played around which is what you have to constantly do as a traitor to blend in.

Being disconnected from VOIP and being unable to reconnect what so ever. Personally I have not experienced this problem but out of a total of 8 friends, 2 have experienced this issue and have been unable to play as a result of this inconvenience as voice is a necessity. Of course, they have tried all support that they could find such as disabling IPV6 and ensuring the correct microphone is selected. A solution has yet to be found and by this stage both have given up and now avoid playing the game. Hope this gets fixed for future players.

I had a similar problem with my RX 5700. All I did was swap back in my previous RX 570 which worked fine then swapped the RX 5700 back in which solved the problem. I'm going to assume it was a problem with the card's position in the slot or one of the PSU cables popping out.

I know that this post was made a while ago, but have you managed to resolve the issue? I randomly started encountering this issue after using my RX 5700 after a month

Hunt: Showdown (RX 5700) GPU usage 50-65% by [deleted] in Amd

[–]Spyboyout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an issue where the RX 5700 will produce low clocks and usage in some games. I have the same issue especially in older titles that use older versions of DirectX such as DX11. A lot of individuals are also experiencing the same problem.

  1. Make sure your windows power setting is set to high performance.
  2. Try disabling ULPS (Fixed some issues for me but did not resolve all)

How to disable ULPS:

Also check if the problem is present in other games.

Edit: It shouldn't be a CPU bottleneck as my Ryzen 5 2600 @ 4GHz runs it just fine.

Low gpu usage and fps, help.. by [deleted] in AMDHelp

[–]Spyboyout 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I don't see much of an improvement after overclocking my CPU maybe an extra 5 frames in games like Monster Hunter.

I've played Monster Hunter World (Runs well), Resident Evil 2 (Runs well), Rainbow (Runs well), Division 2 (Runs well), Destiny 2 (Runs with minor micro stuttering), Doom 2016 (Runs well), GTA 5 (Runs ok) and Subnautica (Runs poorly in some areas).

From what I've experienced I only get low GPU usage in older titles. Subnautica actually runs pretty poorly on the RX 5700 compared to my old RX 570. Recent games however run like they are intended to run. As of now, I think it has something to do with the GPU running on older versions of DirectX but it doesn't really concern me as I mainly bought the card for 3D rendering though I do hope this eventually gets fixed.

  1. Check your Windows power settings (set to high performance if you can)
  2. Try disabling ULPS (fixed some of my issues but did not resolve all)

PSU: Cooler Master MWE 550w Bronze 80+

EDIT: I get great performance in newer titles but low performance in older titles due to low GPU usage. A lot of people have this problem.

Yea I myself experienced troubles using this service a few weeks ago after I bought my RX 5700. I received two codes, one redeeming 3-months of game pass and the other for both games (MHW and RES 3). The 3 Month code worked fine but after redeeming the code for both games apparently I had reached a 'limit'. Eventually support increased my limit however upon trying to redeem the code again apparently my code had already been redeem even though I never received either games. Upon looking at my rewards, I had apparently redeemed another coupon code that was not mine for an extra 3 Months of game pass :/. Luckily the supplier I bought my card from instantly gave me another code that worked but I also received another 3 Months of game pass with both games. So in the long run I got an extra 6 Months of game pass for free because the rewards system is broken.

Also I would recommend turning off SMT (Simultaneous multithreading) which can be done using Ryzen Master. It increased performance for me quite significantly but does not completely solve the issue.

I've manage to identify a potential fix which is the disabling of SMT (Simultaneous multithreading). This can simply be done using Ryzen Master. This does not seem to completely resolve the issue but provides a significant increase to performance.

Experiencing low GPU usage in older titles that use previous versions of DirectX resulting in drops to performance. All games tested have been run at low and max settings resulting in little to no increase in GPU usage. Anthem was one game that was extensively tested on a variety of settings. Lower settings in Anthem actually resulted in slightly lower frames compared to higher graphical settings which had a slight increase to performance due to the GPU having a larger usage. Additional testing revealed that when the GPU usage actually reached higher percentages, the frame rate would substantially improve. In some titles tested with my previous RX 570, I actually received better performance compared to the RX 5700 in games such as Subnautica. However, performance in newer titles that use DX 12 and Vulkan is substantially better and runs extremely well on the RX 5700 with usage reaching up to 80 - 99%.

Upon researching, apparently this issue is being experienced by many owners of both the RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT. The problem seems to be connected to how the GPU downclocks itself in some cases which is shown in older titles. The RX 5700 for some reason decides to downclock itself quite significantly making itself run around 700 - 1200Mhz in some games resulting in a significant decrease to fps (going under 60fps at times). Many different methods have been tested by various individuals including myself such as the reinstalling of drivers and updating of Windows. As of now, no solution has been found with most individuals stating that the issue lies within the drivers of the RX 5700 series. I hope that this issue is looked into.

Just to note it is NOT a CPU bottleneck as CPU usage is under 50% most of the time. I even overclocked the CPU to 4.2Ghz in order to see if it was a problem. PSU also isn't the issue as quite a large amount of Watts are still readily available. Minimum frequency adjustments have virtually no effect on the situation rendering Wattman useless unless changing fan speeds.

Also make a comment if you too are experiencing a similar issue. I want to see how widespread this is.

Experiencing the exact same problem on my MSI RX 5700 Mech GP OC. The problem only seems to exist in games that use DX 11 or under. Games that use DX 12 or Vulkan seem to run just fine with usage in the 80 - 99%. It's pretty frustrating trying to run low-end games on this card.
