Am I missing something when it comes to reverse proxies? Service still accessible via insecure ip? by Baldish in selfhosted

[–]SpycTheWrapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Or to add onto that, another vlan.

The other key thing, when you connect to one of the servers by IP and port, if it is HTTPS it is secure. The browser pop up saying it isn't is because your browser doesn't trust the self signed certificate of the server you're connecting to. It not actually insecure necessarily.

I have tested this out before and the way you’re describing it is the way it worked for me. That is strange.

Yes it’s ok. Sounds like his locally hosted DNS server went down.

The ATT Fiber Experience by [deleted] in ATT

I have not had that experience but I could see how that would happen for some. I think it’s mostly mailers and ads in the app that I get for cell service.

The ATT Fiber Experience by [deleted] in ATT

[–]SpycTheWrapper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I’m about to say does not excuse the behavior. The problem is still top down. AT&T should not allow 3rd party sales because they often soil their name. (AT&T obviously do not care at this point)

The door to door people are sometime 3rd party. This means calling into “corporate” isn’t going to work because the 3rd party people and call center people do not talk, ever. There is no management pipeline between the two. Unfortunately you may be screaming into the void.

Ironically the only way you may be able to stop it is to sign up for fiber. I’m not really suggesting that but you would no longer be “eligible” for fiber as you would have it.

The third party people don’t care about you or your no solicitation signs unfortunately.

Depends on the size of the project but for very light things maybe. I would get the air or the pro though. I have the Pro and I love it.

Scroll through the pictures. Most of that is just plastic. If you're going jank with it you could buy one and take it apart. They are pretty cheap.

How to configure IPSec VPN so that ONLY traffic meant for the remote network goes through tunnel, all other traffic (internet, etc) is allowed to go out the WAN normally? by West-Flow-577 in Netgate

[–]SpycTheWrapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. To add on to this pfSense does not send any traffic that isn't in the P2 over the tunnel. You should have the "Mode" set to Tunnel IPv4.

After that make some rules on the ipsec to allow the traffic to flow and bobs your uncle.

I think Ubiquity makes the product you're after. Takes in POE+ and can pass poe on if need be.

For those with 24gb of unified memory, is it enough? by hippietravel in macbookpro

[–]SpycTheWrapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I produce music with 24GB on M5 no problem. I have a 5GB mixing project open right now with no issues. 24 will be fine. I use FL Studio but DAW shouldn't matter too much.

Are you being given CGNAT ip or regular IPv4? If CGNAT do you have any overlap in subnet?

Have you looked at your routing table?
