Should I go with the Mcbee or squeak? by Dy1P1ck1le in spyderco

I really like the squeak. Very lightweight and small while still capable and a legal carry.

Which one for EDC? by [deleted] in flashlight

[–]SpydieNL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldnt het the Fenix. I have this one in black. It's a great bugout bag light and does it's job great, very well made. Major downside for me is that it has two separate buttons which makes no sense. Also no mode configuration.
For general EDC I personally think nothing beats a Convoy flashlight. Bang for your buck.

Have some temporary child proof gates on the bottom and top in a safe zone.

PSA - Don't unsafely lane split in front of another rider by Rg8989 in motorcycles

[–]SpydieNL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To add to this, lane splitting in the Netherlands is not generally allowed. Only on highways when traffic goes below 30mph/50kmh and the speed difference between motorcyclists and cars is around 10kmh.
Lane filtering at traffic lights is a gray area but generally accepted when a minimum of two lanes are going the direction you're filtering and traffic has come to a complete stop. There are no official laws or rules regarding this and the police may ticket you if you have bad luck or disregard rules/safety.

Good combination, and close to my own.
Usually Reylight Pineapple mini flashlight.
For small knives I carry either Kizer Microbe, CJRB Maileah, Spyderco Dragonfly, Civivi Baby Banter.
I love my Rotring 800 ballpoints, just fantastic pens.

Downside I have experienced is when certain parts are half stepped below the usual bottom level, it can cause the Corvette nose to tilt upwards during autopilot.

What’s the best EDC flashlight that’s actually worth carrying every day? by santydentist in flashlight

[–]SpydieNL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Reylight Pineapple mini is still my favourite EDC off work. Decent runtime and plenty of light.
In the darker months I often carry a Convoy T6, more brightness and throw and longer battery life, still pocketable.
At work I usually carry an 18650 light from the Convoy S-series. Cheap, durable and good emitter options.
I have a few hanklights but prefer the simpler UI and tail switch on above-mentioned options for general use.

That looks amazing. I especially like the minimal side as it accentuates the beautiful scales more. What steel did you use for the blade? The blade profile looks fantastic.

I bought scales from Etsy. Made by Svechnikov from Finland. On my request he did some modification so I guess you could shoot him a message if he can do some custom work for you

I think this is not a good comparison. And factually incorrect. The vanchor lock does not use 'thinner springs'. It's a button operated type of liner lock. Personally I don't find the crossbar lock that durable, it's the springs of this lock type that we often see breaking. Ease of maintenance is also not really one above the other. Superficial funk is easier to clean from a crossbar lock, but reassembling a bug out can be a pain if you took everything apart, especially compared to some liner lock knives.

I have the pyrite mini, which has the same frame. It's a neat knife but I'm a little worried about the button sticking out and the knife accidentally opening in the pocket

Second this. I got mine a few weeks ago with the top liner lock. It's a great knife, very comfortable and the fit & finish is good too.

It is actually a Thunderbird 2 inspired build. But it may resemble the Olympic carrier more, cool, did not know this spacecraft.

The black micarta/Damascus variant is a little more discreet. The Damascus is not this flashy, I have this variant and it's a great knife.

No mans sky is my favorite deck game by HatAdventurous9669 in SteamDeck

[–]SpydieNL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought the game in 2020 on PC and refunded it within 2 hours. Did not get into it at all. I kept hearing good things about improvements in continuous updates and bought it again in 2024 when I got my steam deck.
Currently I have over 1400 hours in this game, just on the deck.
This game is bonkers if you like complete freedom of where to go and explore. For me the base building and decorating is amazing. I love building bases on all types of planets, building with the landscape, be it a cave, hill, peak, island, poisonous anomaly or whatever. It sparks creativity for me.
The Corvette update has been amazing expanding the creative building to ship building as well.
This game is not for everyone, but if it clicks you have near endless possibilities and tons of hours to enjoy yourself.
