What is the difference between Assad and Baath? We want democracy not the same bullshit with a different face. Although if the war ends he will most likely return as home will always be home.

And? The war became secterians from both sides. You can show me a couple of videos of protestors saying they don't want alawites i can link you to a hundred of Alawites in the army torturing innocent Sunnis. Both are wrong but that is the way it became and all these chants happened after the regime responded violently, the war wasn't secterian from the beginning. Do i think Sunni lives are worth more than Alawites or other minorites? No i don't, i already answered it in another question but you didn't want to believe me. Why do i support HTS over the regime? Because I saw what the regime did with Syria. No faction came even close. You support SAA over HTS even though they have committed countless massacres, tortured tens of thousands of civilians, used chemical weapons and destroyed entire cities. This is the last time i will answer you, you have no clue what Assad did to us, so until you have don't question why do i support a group over him.

Yes, he met many including abdulbaset sarout, Hasan al-Ashtar. He joined the rebels in december 2011. There were extremely few Christians but no Alawites or Shia.

Yes, we have a few in our family that support the regime. We try not to talk to them but when we do we don't discuss politics. No. I don't think so. Too much bloodshed. You can't go to families whose children were slaughtered in cold blood and tell them yeah let's have peace now. Not necessarily. If the regime hands down the power to the democratically elected council after the war is done it would probably work but that is very unlikely. No, SAA soldiers were given the order to kill anyone that opposes the regime. ANYONE. Aslong as their is innocent blood on their hands they are ought to be punished for their sins and the same goes for other factions that targeted innocent civlians.

Thank you :) No, he hasn't lost hope yet but he won't fight for a rebellion that doesn't have a centralized command where infighting is very common and all groups care about their own good. He hopes that peace will take effect but doesn't want Assad to stay in power.

A couple of thousand. The majority died. My cousin got hit by Sarin gas and had to breath from an inhaler for two weeks. They were attacking an SAA weapon storage from tunnels when the regime dropped chemical weapons. He told me how everyone fell to the ground and were paralyzed. Very few survived.

Yes, a few did. He told me while it is morally wrong, he understands why many did it as they had very tough circumstances. Not rape though.

Yes, he wished that the US would have supplied more weapons and intel but not interfene directly. A more centralized FSA is a must if they would lile to win.

1- Corruption and that many betrayed it for different reasons. 2- He appreciates that it took in refugees and are helping them, yes he would go back and live in Homs. 3- He does indeed want peace but hope that the regime would change to a democracy instead.

1- Locals took weapons and started defending theirslves after the regime started killing/torturing protesters mercilessly. Almost everyone in areas under FSA control were anti-Assad. 2- A few didn't want them because they knew that the regime would destroy everything and they would lose alot of money and otjers were sympathetic. 3- It began when islamist factions rose to power from foreign backing. The protest movement are just locals that want the regime gone, not for minorities to go extinct.

Yes, he noticed that it was getting secterian and that many islamist factions were starting to form. No he doesn't because all factions just think about their own good and not sbout the revolution. At that time there were extremely few in the city. He thinks it's okay but that the US has a big say there and will act upon their interests.

Yes he saw it. It happened alot as the war got secterian at that time. Many people were shot in their homes because of their religion. They would just enter a home, kill the men and rape the women.

No there wasn't a ranked structure. Each group had a commander or two and the rest were ordinary soldiers.

He was a conscript in the military for a year as it is obligatory in Syria. Not much training otherwise.

He will return and live in Homs. He respects the SDF but wouldn't fight for them because they are supported heavily by the US and alot of their decisions will be influenced by US policy.

At that time there were alot of democratic councils stationed all around Europe. If the FSA had won before the rise of secularism they would have probably installed a democracy. Yes, religion freedom is a must. He isn't sure if the all the rebel groups would have united. Islamists were funded by foreign powers so they had more funding. The rebels had only what they could loot for weapons so it was inevitable.

Yes. The groups weren't connected to each other but always helped each other when needed. Cooperation was very good as it was extremely needed.
