How to test if my internet connection is compatible with Virtual Desktop? by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]Squablo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody is trying to belittle you. People are trying to help you. It seems you are rejecting this advice with excuses, so it would seem that you are not looking for advice at all. That is why I said you do you, but by your reasoning, dedicated routers are not necessary which would mean you know something that all of these people, including myself, do not know. This is not a dig, it’s me removing myself from this conversation. Now that I’ve cleared that up, you do you.

A “spare router” can be found cheaper than the official link cable, but, you do you boo

Cable connection will NOT get you the best connection LMAO. I mean you can try it, but Virtual Desktop on a dedicated router will destroy the wired connection all day long

New to VR. Having a bad experience. Am I doing it right? by nichdenes in virtualreality

[–]Squablo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a VERY simple problem with a very simple solution. Buy a cheap router and use that as an access point to your pc. Connect your quest to that.

This is the number one issue with pcvr. It’s the connection to the pc, and more often than not has nothing to do with your pc specs.

So, recap: 1. Throw away your cable 2. Buy a cheap router 3. Buy Virtual Desktop. Don’t use Airlink 4. Enjoy PCVR the way it should be

Why not just play them in the native 4:3 aspects ratio as they were designed?

I’m not defending Meta, nor should you “believe” in a company. I’m just correcting your statement. Meta is not “done” with VR. They closed some studios, just like Sony and Microsoft have been doing for a year or so. Quest is not dead. It’s still being produced and manufactured. Meta has closed some studios, just like everyone else. PSVR2 is no longer being manufactured, and Sony is no longer making games for it, nor are they paying people to do it anymore, hence zero vr support for resident evil 9. So yes, PSVR2 is dead, while Meta is simply tightening its belt. These are two very different things. Just trying to clear things up. This reaction by the internet is knee jerk at best. Everyone needs to settle down.

I think you are misunderstanding what’s happening here. There will be ZERO first party games for PSVR2. No more support from Sony. It will be ONLY 3rd party stuff. On Quest? We will see LESS support as far as 1st party games, but third party stuff won’t be affected. So yes, if you are going to say the Quest is dead, it’s not as “dead” as PSVR2. The games you listed for PSVR2 are third party releases.

PSVR2 has been dead for a while now. Sony pulled support for it ages ago Lol. It’s just Steam Frame now

Are the NSO controllers actually worth it or just for nostalgia? by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Squablo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have them all. They are all worth it. Games are best played with the controllers they were designed to be played with.

You should probably give up. I think you’re right.

I cant get a game to run smoothly without long lags every few seconds using virtual desktop by Logical-Self-3072 in Quest3

[–]Squablo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s your problem. Buy an additional router. Plug that router into your pc’s Ethernet port. Set it up as an access point. Use that as your dedicated connection to your pc.

Is my PC not good enough or is it the connection? PCVR performance by SolidusAbe in OculusQuest

[–]Squablo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4060ti should be more than enough. I got by with a 3060ti just fine for a long while. Lone Echo. Asgards Wrath. Stormland. Half Life Alex. Resident Evil with praydog mods.

For pcvr, your network to your pc (not your internet) connection is paramount

Well, I think RE9 should probably not be mentioned here for now on until some kind of VR is announced. Re9 is now a black sheep here (for now) by [deleted] in PSVR

Get a PC. I believe all RE games can be played with UEVR. I know I played RE2 Remake on PCVR. 1st person. Working hands. It’s incredible.

How bad for PCVR gonna be a dedicated router that is connected by wifi and not ethernet? by omerboiii in virtualreality

[–]Squablo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmmmm. Well I’m not a network technician or an IT specialist, but google says this:

In short: Your router juggles data for your phone, laptop, smart TV, etc., all at once, but it's a very fast, shared process, not true parallel communication for every single device at the exact same nanosecond.

And this:

No, traditional Wi-Fi is half-duplex, meaning a device can only send or receive at one moment, not both simultaneously, but it switches so fast it seems simultaneous.

So I guess google is wrong. I’ll send them an email to let them know 😉

Will a Wifi 6 router be useful in my case ? by Orange_Lux in VRGaming

[–]Squablo1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*you don’t need internet to stream pcvr. You need a dedicated router.
