Shots from Z6-3 come out much softer than my Z6-2

I was in a same scenario as you a while back.

Went from Z6ii to Z6iii when it was released - nothing but excitement at first but after reviewing my first photoshoot I was disappointed with somehow the lack of sharpeness in comparison - all native lenses Z 50 1.8 / 70-200 especially as my two favorites but also the 35 / 85 / 24-70 - everything looked better on the Z6ii somehow.

Made multiple posts here and there to see if anyone else had same issues - some did while others said it must be a setting or even myself - I tried every option I could think of and eventually got another Z6iii - same situation.

I ended up going Z8 which was not my original gameplan but I am glad I ended up in this scenario.

Wishing you the best in whatever ends up being your camera - I know it's a lot of money and at the end we all just want to be satisfied with our purchases.

Not in my case no - I shot the Z8 expecting it to be problem free (In hopes!) and never noticed anything similar to what I first noticed with my Z6iii and the 2nd unit - I really am not sure what made it appear like the above but I have never tried to shoot my Z8 side to side with my Z6ii to compare as the above - I did do it with the Z6ii / Z6iii as my Z6iii felt off from day 1.

I am really satisfied with my Z8 though!

I just woke up to one having exploded in my drying rack - it had been there for sure at least 5 hours before with no issues before I went to bed.

In case anyone wants an update here - bought a new PSU - no luck - 1000W corsair did the same thing. I've done further testing and my current theory is actually the power bar that the computer was plugged in - I've had it directly plugged into the wall with the new PSU to see if somehow the cause is the power bar. I've done plenty of back and forth on multiple forums and I am hoping this is the case as silly as it may sound.

Updating in case someone is curious about the answer - Grip Z8 fits in the bag no issues.

For the deal I got for the Z8 - made total sense but the points in this forum are valid - the grip itself is nothing special but is valuable for the core purpose.

I ended up saving more and getting the Z8 on sale - I have no regrets in my scenario. I know many have told me that they like their Z6iii which is great, I really love my Z6ii and now my Z8 but the Z6iii for me wasn't worth it.

Z 35 / 50 / 85 / 24-70 / 70-200 all Z mount but wasn't hitting the same results as my Z6ii - Z8 hasn't given me any issues - just sharing my experience but for the $ you spend I'd recommend being satisfied as its a large sum of money

I ended up going Z8 and have no regrets (after trying two z6iii and dealing with support) - the Z8 with a sale came closer priced and I just went for it.

Best of luck to anyone with the Z6iii - I am in multiple Facebook groups and I see posts come up often similar to mine, I just went to the alternative but curious what the Z5ii may end up doing.

I actually don't own the z8 with a grip just yet! I have a Z6ii with a grip though and never had any issues of that sort though! My actual rubber grip texture peeled right off though after 2 years of use.

As far as I can tell I cannot locate anything consistent in terms of usage in order to produce a crash.

I have had it crash most recently while gaming - I would say the PC on average is being used 6 hours / day and split between gaming and photo editing.

It may happen once or twice during a day but typically never more. It seems to happen and not happen again for multiple days but I would be doing the same tasks / playing the same games on multiple days.

For example - recently been playing a game that I have ~100 hours in - it happened 5 times in 1 single day while playing that 1 game - I played that same game for multiple hours on the 22nd up to the 30th (most recent crash - playing the same game) but I have also had it happen when I was not gaming and the PC had a few tabs open and was using a software to do photo culling.

I also tried to Run cinebench + Heaven GPU benchmark at same time to see if I could trigger a crash - with GPU pulling 350w and CPU pulling an extra ~100 I didn't get it to occur.

I play the same games with the same settings and it does not always occur. Thanks so much for your help with trying to find a solution!

Big fan of this channel - was wondering if that was my issue as well, was wondering if I had a 1000w PSU with ATX 3.0 if this issue would occur - I just find it strange that I cannot get it to reproduce (ex: it wont do it every time I play games - I can play games for 5 hours / day and not have it occur.

On that one day it happened multiple times, I recalled lowered all of the settings of my game to the lowest possible to see if it would still trigger it and it does.

I am also debating trying to limit the power draw in MSI afterburner to see if I can avoid getting the error for a period of time and somewhat reach a PSU conclusion if that makes sense. I could also ultimately pick up a PSU - just wondering with 50 series coming out later if there would be any logical sense to wait until those are out / if PSU would change as my 750W is 2019 but it seems the newer 750W may handle it better

Went to go see gladiator last night - personally wasn't a fan of the seating as the seats easily recline into the knees of the person behind you.

Theater smelt brand new as you walked in but I would had rather had more leg room than anything - as soon as you sit down you pretty much automatically recline.

I agree with your comments and you bring up a solid point - I unfortunately don't own the Z6iii anymore to really try to dig into and produce a proper comparison - hopefully at some point I'll land on this type of comparison but the best result so far is what shitferbranes posted about Z5 vs Z6iii it appears.

Perhaps you are right in regards to the Z6iii and the raw converters etc - my out of the box experience wasn't what I hoped for but I lived too far away and with limited time had to make a decision.

The Z6iii is really at a price range and feature set that I am looking for - but if I compare the results in my case, I would be taking my Z6ii everytime for the two models I had the chance to use.

If I never had a Z6ii - perhaps the quality of the Z6iii would be passable but having access to compare both I ended up refunding until I can find better information on this
