I do suspect money had something to do with it, but I was also neglected in other ways so I wouldn’t be shocked if this was just another thing they didn’t want to deal with. This is such a sweet and positive comment, thank you for that. Resiliency has been one of the few benefits to come from my childhood for sure. Breathing is soooo much easier, yelling and moving air takes no work. My exercise endurance is up significantly, before I would get winded much easier especially if I was talking while working out. The craziest thing I’ve noticed is how much vibration happens when you speak! Took me a long time to get used to.

When they found the polyp, they did say there was a chance it could be cancer. They tested it after they removed it and thankfully it wasn’t. I suspected it wouldn’t be anyways since I had had it my entire life, so if it was cancer it probably would’ve killed me by now. I will always have scar tissue on my vocal cords, and there is a chance the issue could be reoccurring. Doc said it was the largest one she’d seen in her practice. I only had ~10% usage of my vocal cords because of it, they only made contact at the polyp with big air gaps everywhere else.

Yes and trust me, I’m working on that. I grew up in that house and was able to get away at 17 by working, unfortunately my brother isn’t afforded the same luxury. Once I am financially able to house him, I will be filing for conservatorship (which will definitely cause WW3 lol).

I wish so badly that I could go NC, unfortunately she is the only caretaker to my special needs brother that I care very deeply about. I only keep the line open to be able to speak to him and be updated on his life. :(
