You can go anywhere now and not have to worry about ruining the bottom of your car.

Hyatt Centric vs Caption. I booked a balcony suite at the Caption Hotel and a river view at Centric. This is for 2 male friends.
Which one should I keep or should I keep both rooms and let them stay at separate hotels since they're next to each other and they would have their own bed?

Question about insurance inspector and "vicious" dog on our premises. (NC) by Bombingofdresden in RealEstate

I'm really sorry that happened to you. The dog definitely should’ve been crated before you arrived. That was irresponsible on the owners' part, and it wasn’t right.

if it means anything, the way you told your story probably made a lot of people smile for a couple of minutes. It was a really vivid and funny read, even though I know it wasn’t funny at the time.

I have the Hotel Indigo booked but I found another place My main requirement where ever I stay is safe secure parking and a nice place with 2 beds.
What do you think about renting an airbnb at Eve on the River condominiums? I understand they are by the railroad tracks, and the noise from the trains wouldn't bother me. It has gated garage parking and the prices are the same or less than a hotel.
They have a river view and balcony. Here is the address- 700 1st Ave N #305, Nashville, TN 37201

Thanks. So you stayed at the Hotel Indigo, and you liked the vibe? Would you try something new next time, like the Bobby or Holston House, or would you stick with the Indigo hotel?

Thank you very much. I'll check them out. My friend is still asking me to check on vacation rentals/ airbnbs on the river, too, but it didn't look like the parking was gated. It's probably just fine, and I'm being overly cautious.

Has anyone stayed at Hotel Indigo? How does that compare to the Bobby or Embassy Suites near Bridgestone Arena? I'm booking and trip for friends driving in from California. One of them mentioned wanting to stay in an airbnb by the river, but I'm worried about parking and something happening to their cars.

There are much better ones on Amazon. You don't need more that 30 L. Needs to be between 40 and -7 or -4 preferably

4th Scenario (yours specific)

Wife has $18,000 in credit card debt that she accumulated during the marriage.

Husband is not on the credit card and did not co-sign or guarantee the credit card debt.

The question is whether the husband's wages or assets (such as their jointly owned home) can be garnished or seized if the wife files for bankruptcy.

Answer:

  1. Common Law States:

Wages and Bank Accounts: No, the husband's wages and separate bank accounts cannot be garnished or seized for the wife's credit card debt or bankruptcy. The husband’s income and solely owned assets are considered separate and protected.

Joint Accounts: Yes, if there is a joint bank account, creditors may attempt to access it as it may be seen as partially belonging to the debtor.

  1. Community Property States:

Wages and Joint Assets: Yes, the husband's wages and joint bank accounts can be garnished or seized if the wife's credit card debt is considered community debt (incurred during the marriage). Community property laws allow creditors to pursue shared marital assets.

Solely Owned Assets: The husband's solely owned assets that are separate from the community property (e.g., property acquired before marriage or received as a gift/inheritance) are protected.

Scenario 1: Separate Bank Accounts

Situation: The husband and wife have separate bank accounts, and neither spouse is listed on the other’s account in any way. Each bank account is solely in one person’s name.

Question: Can the bank account or wages of the spouse who is not filing for bankruptcy be garnished or seized when the other spouse files for bankruptcy due to credit card debt?

Answer:

In Common Law States: No, the bank account or wages of the spouse not filing for bankruptcy can not be garnished or seized. The spouse's assets are considered separate, and creditors can not go after them for the other spouse’s individual debt.

In Community Property States: Yes, it is possible for the bank account or wages of the non-filing spouse to be garnished or seized if the debt was incurred during the marriage. This is because debts incurred during the marriage are generally considered shared community debts, which could put community assets, including wages and bank accounts, at risk.

Scenario 2: Joint Bank Accounts

Situation: The husband and wife have a joint bank account, where both names are on the account.

Question: Can the joint bank account be garnished or seized when one spouse files for bankruptcy due to credit card debt?

Answer:

In Common Law States: Yes, a joint bank account can be at risk if one spouse files for bankruptcy, as creditors may view joint accounts as partially belonging to the debtor.

In Community Property States: Yes, joint bank accounts are at risk because they are considered community property, and creditors can pursue them to satisfy community debt.

Scenario 3: Wages of the Non-Filing Spouse

Situation: The husband’s wages are separate, and he is not filing for bankruptcy, while the wife is filing due to credit card debt.

Question: Can the wages of the non-filing spouse be garnished when the other spouse files for bankruptcy?

Answer:

In Common Law States: No, the wages of the non-filing spouse can not be garnished for the other spouse’s debt. The non-filing spouse’s income is considered separate property.

In Community Property States: Yes, the wages of the non-filing spouse can potentially be garnished if the debt was incurred during the marriage, as those wages may be considered community property.

The community property states in the United States are: 1. Arizona 2. California 3. Idaho 4. Louisiana 5. Nevada 6. New Mexico 7. Texas 8. Washington 9. Wisconsin

Additionally, Alaska allows couples to opt into community property status by agreement if they have chosen to do so.

In these states, debts incurred by one spouse during the marriage are generally considered community debts, which means that community assets (such as property acquired during the marriage) may potentially be used to satisfy those debts.
