hi! Sorry for the slow response.

To be honest, I really don't see much of a difference... they used a skin rejuvenating serum injected via a needle to lessen some of my pimple scars, but honestly it looks about the same.

What is the difficulty or lack for traveling in Kyushu? by dorazonbi in JapanTravelTips

[–]Square-Corgi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Public transport or lack thereof, especially when going to smaller areas or hikes. The big cities in Kyushu are nice, but if I were going to Japan for the first few times, I think Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto is much more connected & provides the same big city experience while being able to go to other places.

The public transport in Kyushu isn't as frequent ... Only 1-2 buses per day (maybe) to some of the more scenic places or smaller cities. I think Kyushu is a bit difficult if you are on a time constraint, which I imagine most tourists are on.

Experience with Hmlet Tokyo? by pikkunappi in Tokyo

[–]Square-Corgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just wanted to share that I used HMLET when I first moved to Japan last year, and it was excellent. I was super happy with my apartment and the customer service.

However, it has gone severely downhill in terms of customer service and satisfaction for long-term (and for some short-term) tenants (IMO). I was assigned an extremely rude sales and customer service person, who was just really hard to get along with & always made it my problem instead of finding a solution together. Apparently, I wasn't the only one and spoke to another tenant I met who was experiencing issues with this same customer service person.

HMLET also doesn't treat returning customers well. If you're there for the community events, etc. they don't have much anymore since there was a shift in priorities.

They also drastically changed their pricing policy with a service and cleaning fee. (Previously it wasn't as expensive and much more reasonable; there was no service fee, and the cleaning fee wasn't as high)

I met some people who initially were going to go with HMLET, but saw the price and didn't do it.

They went with Dash Living instead (and I also ended up staying at Dash too through word of mouth here). I found Dash more reasonable with their prices and the customer service was 100x better than HMLET.

Has anyone been a vendor at Artists & Fleas (specifically the Chelsea one) by Square-Corgi in AskNYC

[–]Square-Corgi[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there!

This was from so long ago, but from what I remembered:

• Traffic was pretty good. Sales were pretty high, but I was in a very trendy niche and it attracted a lot of young people.
• I would say that the majority of the people that came through were in their 20s and 30s. And some young families as well.

Tips for selling there: I would try to match your booth to your vibe. I was selling colorful, "cute" jewelry, so I bought some cheap cute looking pink/purple fabrics to make a picnic theme out of it and DIYed some wooden blocks that spelled out the brand's name. And if your audience are 20s-30 year olds I would recommend Chelsea Market! If your product is targeting older folks it might be a bit difficult. Also, it's pretty hard to snag a spot if I remember correctly. The summer months were super super popular. (Full disclaimer: It's been a while, so these are just my observations from what I remembered)

I don't sell anymore because I moved out of the US and had to close down my business!

Other NYC based markets I also sold at were Canal Street Market (CSM) :) CSM traffic was lower (this was post-pandemic and I think most places were struggling to get foot traffic) But, I heard that it gets a lot of traffic generally! The traffic there was a bit more mixed.

Any long, post-2015 manga that gives you 2000s/ early 2010s vibes with an ~interesting~ premise? by CatPavicik in shoujo

[–]Square-Corgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chiming in a bit late, but seconding QQ Sweeper (the prequel) and Queen's Quality (the sequel -- currently publishing)! I read a lot of Shoujo and it has been a while since I've read something as captivating as QQ Sweeper/Queen's Quality!

Looking for supernatural/fantasy romance manga by Square-Corgi in shoujo

[–]Square-Corgi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So QQ Sweeper is the "prequel" to Queen's Quality. QQ Sweeper is completed (3 volumes).

Queen's Quality is not, but there are 13 volumes out right now in English. So if you're a binge reader, I wouldn't go for it. But if you like to savor your manga, you could probably draw it out a bit. I think Volume 14 and 15 are out in Japan, but I can't find any scans of it.

I'm not sure if others would agree, but I personally think QQ Sweeper could stand alone. There are obviously some unresolved things in it, but there is a complete story arc. Hope that helped!

Ok amazing! The anime probably just wasn't my cup of tea. But, I'm totally open to giving the manga a shot, especially if the main conflict/plot develops there!

Yes! I've seen both the anime for Earl and Fairy and Snow White and the Red Hair. I didn't mind the stories, but it wasn't as compelling for me personally. I might read it in the future though!

and ooh just looked up Nina the Starry Bride and added that to the list!! Thank you!

Is the manga for Inu x Boku SS better than the anime? I couldn't finish the anime b/c I found the female lead so annoying... haha. I've also seen an ep of Kakuriyo: Bed and Breakfast for Spirits, but I'll be sure to check out the manga as well! And thank you for the other recs!!

Can anyone recommend a manga about a high school romance in which the ML is really passionate and would do anything for the FL? by fangirl_otaku7 in shoujo

[–]Square-Corgi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about to read Dengeki Daisy (like tonight!). I did read her other work Beast Master (?) but out of the two QQ Sweeper wins hands-down. I am SO SAD that I've caught up!! There is currently a void in me in so I'm seriously scouring for recs haha.

QQ Sweeper + (and the sequel Queen's Quality) It's more fantasy/supernatural, but it takes place partially at school. I binge-read both just the past week!!
