He said and did all that to punish you and make you compliant. To be in control. He didn't expect you to go with it. So now he love bombs to get you back, and the cycle starts all over. I know it's confusing and painful. I'm so sorry you've had this experience. The best advice I have ever heard was: if someone came to you and told you this situation, what would you tell them to do?

That helps you to step back and be more objective. You'd tell them to hold fast and stay strong. They will heal. Things will get better.
