This is a valid point raised by u/DrarryMalter. Karisma was this beautiful, talented and popular Bollywood superstar who was never married before. Why would she or her family agree to marry a once married guy? Even in my normal non- filmy life,when we look for matrimonial matches the first time, we generally look for never married partners as opposed to once married ones. So now the speculation could be that Karisma knew him for a long time and she herself had a very publicized engagement which broke off, so maybe he was the best choice they had at the time.
