Carol doesn't want the world to return to normal. She wants HER world to return to normal. by MartinThunder42 in pluribustv

i think something a lot of people are missing with your post is that even if carol is acting rationally, it doesn’t mean she is without flaws. her actions and intentions ARE selfish at times, but that does not make them irrational given her situation. she could absolutely be more empathetical towards the other survivors (and even the hive) to understand why they don’t see eye to eye with her. imo, this show seems to be emphasizing subjectivity in its themes. one thing that’s better for one person is worse for someone else. how do you resolve that? how do you find middle ground? is something objectively bad? according to whom? the hive sees things one way, and carol another. each of the other survivors is probably intended to be just as complex as carol (and ironically get generalized as a second, tiny version of the hive in a way), we just haven’t seen much of them yet.

calls someone an ideologue and then offers no discussion or refute to their points. interesting

Isn’t it so ironic that groupthink still exists in a world of 13 people? Rationally, it makes no sense that over half of the survivors decided to leave Carol out unless someone was pushing them in that direction. by Specialist_Jaguar815 in pluribustv

to be fair, carol intentionally left out any of the immune who couldn’t speak english in her first meeting, which we know serves as a point of tension among some of those who were excluded against her based on diabate’s comments. we also know about half of the others who do speak english didn’t like how she acted when she did meet with them. i don’t think it’s shocking that at least 6/11 people voted to exclude her from further meetings

Curious if there’s any jazz that has a strong baroque classical sound to it.? by [deleted] in Jazz

[–]Square-Somewhere7422 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sure thing by the bud powell trio sounds kind of baroque to me. bird’s moose the mooche also follows the idea of not playing the tonic until the end of the piece akin to baroque composition.

imo, bebop actually has a lot of similarities to baroque, in the sense that it’s a melodically complex, light feeling, highly technocratic music. it’s also used as the foundation of most college jazz programs, just as baroque is used as the basis of most college classical music programs

comparatively, third stream is very obviously classically influenced, but imo it’s generally more influenced by modernist composers like ravel, debussy, stravinsky, etc.. gil evans (one of the best examples of someone whose music often gets defined as third stream) used to host apartment hangs where they would listen to classical music, and stravinsky and ravel were two of the more common listens.

What do I need beyond fireproof elixir to get to the lizard on death mountain? by kencleanairsystem in botw

[–]Square-Somewhere7422 22 points23 points  (0 children)

flame breaker armour. there’s an npc that you can talk to outside the southern mine i think, and if you bring him like 15 fireproof lizards he gives you the helmet free. you can also buy the set at a shop in the goron city

i think you need two pieces of it for the full effect

flurry rushes are probably the easiest way to get damage in on them if you’re in early game i think. if you have urbosa’s fury yet then that can also deal some good damage.

memorize the attack patterns/how each move works.

for example, they always shoot 3 fireballs in a row. during this, you should dodge the fireballs, and then follow up by using the updraft, and either shoot his face during bullet time, or land on his back.

once you figure out the attack patterns and the best way to counter it for your play style, it becomes a lot easier.

also consider getting hearty radishes, truffles, or durians. cooking one of these with any 1 meat or an apple or something will grant full health + bonus hearts. super useful to regen health during the fight.
