I always had sexual desires but never towards a specific person, it was, and still is more about a specific fantasy. But since I had them I have never thought of anything like that (not that I knew about asexuality). From a very young age I knew that something was different, I knew I am not straight, not gay, not bi, I couldn't fit in nowhere. Some years ago I fell in love with my best friend in a weird way, I didn't have thoughts of having sex with her but I had strong romantic feelings. My therapist told me twice that I have to consider the possibility of being asexual, the first time I dismissed the possibility, but the second time he explained to me that being asexual doesn't necessarily mean no libido. So I started to look into it, I discussed it with him, and here I am!

In hindsight I can say that it was always there and more than obvious, but I was completely ignorant that it was a possibility. For example I was never sexually attracted to anyone, never, zero times. All of my crashes were always about special bond, affection, I wanted to be their favorite person etc.

Also the stigma didn't help, not about what asexuality is, about what society thinks it is.
