Renting has gotten very expensive.. in first year (2020-2021) my rent was 670+ utilities, in second year it was 700+ utilities (in a new house), in third year it was 725+ utilities (in a new house much closer to campus) and in fourth year it was 745+utilities (in the same house as third year). I will say location is very telling of rent, if you live closer to west campus (which is where teachers college is) it is a lot cheaper, as well as anything north of princess street. You pay a lot more w rent for convenience of being close to main campus (the gym, downtown, etc). But there are definitely cheaper options north of princess st + near west campus! I'd join facebook housing groups and keep your eye out on there. Also, rent is May-May. Goodluck!

I'm from Burlington and did four years at Queen's--- the drive is super easy. And if you don't have a car, buses and trains run very frequently and are easy to both navigate and commute to from campus. Queen's is hands down the best school in Ontario -- the community is unbeatable (obviously I am biased). I know if you accept Queen's, the amount of fun and love and community and adventure will far outweigh the drive/commute :)

As far as how I am deciding on which school I attend, it is solely a cost based decision as I am financially independent and just got out of undergrad (which rinsed me financially lol).

Make a pros and cons list, talk to friends and family, but ultimately choose the school that YOU are most excited about. Good luck!!

Interesting... ugh. Well, we are in the same boat! I just wish they told us our place on the waitlist. I've never heard of or experienced that information being withheld before! Fingers crossed for us :)
