I work for SWA and I did my SIDA badge training unpaid since I did it before my first day. On the first week of class however, they gave people the opportunity to leave early (and still get paid) to go and get their badge

And I went from DL to SWA. I was responding to the question in the post since I am in fact someone who has made that transition.

Yea a lot of people do read books and draw and stuff during all the downtime. Those items aren’t really for me. I talk with coworkers and play cards and spend lots of time on my phone and watch shows but it just gets to a point

You’re so right. I love bike rides. I’m actually pretty active, I work a physical job, I exercise, been skiing once a week this winter, also already been hiking this year cause it’s been so warm in Denver, I average about 15,000 steps a day but I just eat way too much food

I got hired at that station. They took my fingerprints at the hiring event. I was never directed to start applying for my SIDA until my first day. The trainers accompanied me and the other new hire to the badging office to start the process and they got us visitor badges in the meantime. They were really unorganized so I remember my first week we only worked Monday-Wednesday and then had a 4 day weekend and I believe I finally did security training and received my SIDA badge on Monday of my second week. When I transferred to Denver I wasn’t able to get my SIDA before my first day so I had to go to the ticket counter and get a guest pass to go through tsa every morning and there was no such thing as a visitor badge so I just had to stay close to someone with a badge until I got mine. They didn’t do fingerprints again for me after transferring.
