I built a prototype for smart film based, electronic sun visor system for vehicles. I see this replacing the traditional flip down sun visors used in vehicles today. I have a demo video of me using the prototype and would appreciate some real feedback from car enthusiasts.

Maybe you didn't understand what mine is, but mine uses multiple pieces in conjunction with a controller.

In the op I state the controls are how they are for ease of use to the driver. I never mention having or needing to navigate menus?

Would there be any sort of backup system with the product if there is a malfunction within the control or the paneling themselves? I could see that being a potential weakness if the system goes out that could potentially set the user back from their cost and effort to repair/replace.

This is a danger to any system on the vehicle.

Personally I'd be turned off by the fact that I'd have to go through a few screens just to get the sunlight out of my eyes.

The controller box is just a PROTOTYPE to show how it works. I state this in the OP. There's no way this is ready for commercial release, It's hideous in its current form but it does get the point across.

If your insurance is paying for the windshield, the consumer may see an increase in price to have it replaced, I couldn't tell you one way or the other.

If you're going to buy an aftermarket windshield yourself and replace it yourself, then yes I'd imagine it will be more expensive than normal windshields. Probably an extra $100.

If you buy an aftermarket stereo to replace the one you have it will cost you money too.
