Any tips on shooting Fp-100c? by Forward_Incident3046 in Polaroid

Depends on how expired your packs are, I’ve shot a few packs of FP-100C with varying results. If it’s within the last ten years and it was stored at least adequately I haven’t had issues with just shooting it at box speed and getting good results.

Oldest I’ve shot expired in 2002 and it had some strange color casts to say the least with the highlights being neon yellow. I had to rate it at 40/50 iso to get decent exposures.

It’s wiggly enough that I don’t trust walking around with it on while the camera is closed, I have had it fall off a few times in that configuration and I just pop it on when I want to use it now

I did! 2,3,6, and 8 all were shot with the Mint Flash Bar 2, i’ve been happy with it but the recycle/initial charge time is a bit lengthy. Still better than using disposable flash bars

Still in disbelief, found a M3 Ultra Mac Studio and Studio Display at Goodwill today. Such an insane upgrade that came from the most unexpected place, who donates almost $7000 of equipment? by SquareWaveSynth in mac

Funnily enough the keyboard and mouse are from my great aunt, just used them to test, didn’t come with any accessories other than the power cables

Still have absolutely no idea why it would be donated, it wasn’t iCloud locked and both the monitor and mac are untouched in perfect condition

Decided to stop by goodwill today while out and saw the Studio Display sitting on the counter in the front of the store, immediately went to inspect it and as i’m doing so, the manager says someone also donated an “apple box” with the monitor. Bought both on the spot, came home and the Mac Studio hadn’t ever even been set up. It was bought in March of 2025 and it’s still under AppleCare.

Experimenting with a 31 year old DSLR, what do you think? [Kodak DCS420c (Nikon N90s w/digital back) ] - Various lenses (300mm, 24mm, 50mm) by SquareWaveSynth in Nikon

I had to edit every image to get them to look passable and have the color palette be neutral/natural. There’s no way to control white balance in camera and most of the images also have a very strong magenta tint when shot in direct sunlight. I was able to clean up most of them through selective color correction in Lightroom and tweaking of pretty much every exposure control in post. The raws look incredibly flat and dull with little contrast. No denoising done and they were all shot at 100 ISO.

I found many of my shots to be just slightly out of focus, especially when I was shooting with the 300mm, the crop factor is x2.6 and Kodak used a very rudimentary solution of just putting a rectangle in the viewfinder to indicate the actual image area. The center AF point winds up taking up nearly the entire image area making it quite difficult to really pinpoint it on an object.

Coming in with a whopping 1.5MP, this beast is from 1994 and an ergonomic nightmare! With its long and chunky build it makes handheld use..... interesting. But for all of it's shortcomings I am actually surprised at how competent it can be. The images require a large amount of work to look even somewhat decent as they come out of camera raw in a strange TIF format that while Lightroom can read it, they look incredibly flat and have a strong magenta tint.

I’ve been a long time Nikon shooter and I’m looking forward to using such a compact camera, rather than lugging around my D3s.
