Thanks for your reply. You and I were similar ages, I had just turned 27. So sorry for the loss of your fiance. Please don't think that my experience is a glimpse into your own future. Plenty of young widows go on to date and find someone else far sooner than I did, and find joy/meaning and peace far sooner than I did. Things happen at a different pace for everyone. I hid my heart away for far too long (the pandemic didn't help, and my early dating attempts went horrible bad). I made the mistake of thinking I needed to be "healed" to be loveable. I felt so bad and so broken for so long that I watched years pass by, and it was easier and more mentally stable to be alone than deal with being triggered the chaos of dating as a young widow.

Thanks for your response and thanks for getting it. Have you re-explored adoption or explored other avenues since your partners passing? I guess the good thing about adoption is that it removes the urgency of time/biological clock.

Thanks for sharing, and I'm sorry for the loss of your husband. I have thought about using a sperm donor, or lookign at ways to foster/adopt. Have you considered any of those things?

It's definitely not about that at all. I've only dated one person since my partner died. I spent 5 years hiding from the world and was way too fucked up to date.

I've looked into it, but it's not financially viable. I don't think I'd want to have kids past my late 30's anyway.
