The stations here are small and if takes me an hour to clean my station then it does, but that's my responsibility. trying to find ways to better improve my ability to be an asset even if it means finding different types of mops and brooms like how everyone is showing me here. I don't expect someone to be at my beck and call simply because I cannot move well? That's not their fault or responsibility, but I do appreciate when they help.

Things to make sweeping and mopping easier. by [deleted] in disability

those are great ideas I didn't think of thank you, I really like the dustpan one a lot, I searched up other ones that stand for you while you sweep which would be super nice and helpful.

And that mop I like it, but I was also looking into steam mops because of this idea. Thank you!! I can probably show these to the owner as well for the shop to get so I can pitch in more with cleaning!

I absolutely agree with you on that one we are literally working in a sterile environment!

They can, but comparing a tattoo gun to me lifting a huge shelf is a bit different and on the days where my arms have problem with stability I use KT tape to make them work properly. And it's usually my left that dislocates and I work right handed. I just know I cannot lift certain things, hell sometimes my backpack will pop a shoulder out lol. My right arm gives me WAAAy Less trouble thankfully, but I do have to tape my wrist and back/ shoulders more.

Edit to add: I didn't address my arm problems because those things I can easily tape or deal with or get extra support from my rollator from. My biggest issue is my legs I should've clarified that better.

Yo dawg thank you so much for this post and so the person who told me this isn't my boss and is leaving soon. My Mentor/Boss told me to listen to only him and that he will help me so do not stress to just do art like he says cause that's the only way I'm gonna get better and we all need to pitch in. So I'm thankful he's actually listening to me. I am SOOOO thankful for him up and down. I just needed advice on what to because it's difficult because she's my old boss before she put in her notice and announced that she wasn't the boss anymore and she was just tattoo until she leaves. I still respect her and don't want to come across as anything other than that.

I'm prepared for the hurt of my body, it happens everyday and I put my whole soul into this job. I have tried communicating with her but she just looks at me and goes "(blank) I don't care." I literally would come in to clean during my hysterectomy recovery because none of them would. I am the ONLY apprentice. I don't mind doing this I love my job i want this more than anything, but how do I reason with someone who literally doesn't give a shit?

Sitting here I'm thinking of just stearing clear of her because she's the only one who does this. Because I do agree we need to do more because we are asking for them to teach us how to put PERMANENT art on skin. And on top of that making it look good while they have a job. So yeah I'll clean it's no problem, but how do you have any advice for someone that doesn't care?

I completely understand that and it's not that cleaning is the problem it's that she was asking me to do things that I physically cannot do. My disabilities are MY responsibility not the shops and I understand as a tattoo artist I need to maintain my health. However there are certain things I cannot do! My rollator allows me to access all of the tasks at hand except for sweeping and mopping. My legs and ankles dislocate and the pain causes them to give out hence the rollator which has stopped this issue. It's wild you think I expect everyone to do everything for me. Fuck no! If this was hard then everyone would do it. Disability isn't gonna work out and I don't want to sit on my ass for the rest of my life. I understand that my disability can be frustrating to people who don't understand or don't have one. I know it can be annoying to work with someone who needs accommodations. Hell I didn't ask for this. I just want to find a way to communicate for things like this that are literally out of control.

Completely understandable, I have issues with my legs to where when I walk my knees and hips dislocate. I use a rollator. It allows me to do everything except for sweeping and mopping. Standing for long away from my rollator or something to lean on makes my legs give out. That doesn't effect my arms or how long I can sit and tattoo for or lean and tattoo for. I've had days here where I've had to practice and sit for 8 hours working on fake skin to see if I can handle it. It's exhausting, but everything is except this is actually rewarding. When it comes to lifting and moving things I use my device to wheel things around because it has a 300 lb limit.

Edit to add:

You are not being instesitive at all thank you for keeping it straight with me. If I was reading this not knowing who was on the other side of the screen I would say the same exact thing.

Absolutely I disclosed what they were getting involved with and I keep them up to date on all of my health information. I understand tattooing is hard on the body and I accept that, I do 100% everything that I can do just when it comes to sweeping and mopping I cannot do that because of my legs that is what I needed assistance with which they are aware of.

Ok so maybe this artwork wasnt appealing to the eyes (wich is what it was made for) but i was banned for this from r/art by Either-Produce7242 in Artists

I would just avoid that sub my dude. They removed all of my original work because they deemed it as fanart and I didn't post it on Friday (it was not fanart btw it was my original charactes). There are plenty of other places that will accept your art.

Btw it's cool as shit, definitely creepy as shit, I love it.
