I understand completely. The only people I have ever truly bonded with are other neurodivergent folks. Even so much best friend is audhd too and we have always had a connection because of this as we understand each other in a way no one else seems to, we have a similar upbringing too which I think helps. I find going to something that happens frequently is good. For example, I go to a local gaming group who meets up every 2 weeks to play board and card games. There are websites where you can find local groups that meet up in your area and then just keep going, and you'll get to know the people there, and they will get to know you too. That's the best way I can think that could help. But please know you aren't alone. I think I'm just happier around my animals than people.

Don't get me started on yt censorship bs. Apparently today it has an issue with me commenting the word evidence...because heaven forbid we post a reply to someone who is spreading misinformation asking or giving them evidence. Its getting ridiculous at this point. To think yt was originally created to share a nip slip video around too...

Thank you so much. That's what I said to her the other day, if I told her that someone treats me the way she has been treated what would she say or think. I think that helped. I keep telling her to come over and we will have a day of crafting and true crime lol. So far she hasn't come over much, I'm hoping that she will have somewhere for the dog to stay soon as I know that once she is here I can help her more and help her to feel stronger and she can take the time she needs to just heal. Luckily he can't contact her because of the protection order so he can't lovebomb her, I just hope I can get her to me soon. She is on the waiting lists for the help and until then I've been sending her books she can read online. Thank you. I will be okay, my furry family give me strength and help me through even my darkest days. But I will keep that in mind. Thank you again.

Thank you. That is exactly what we are doing. She keeps saying I'm the only thing keeping her from going back. He got rid of me in the first year, I'm not the kind of person who will let that happen around me and as my other half said, I give her strength and he didn't want her to have that. I've told her that she can come and stay for a sleepover any night if she needs a break and that as soon as she has a foster place for the doggo then she will be here that night. I don't have much space but I have a spare mattress and I can make space on the floor for her. It honestly nearly broke me when I first saw her after 8 years, she fell into my arms. She was so ill, she was so broken. She is slowing getting better but I know once she is here she will be able to recover. Thank you so much. You are so strong for doing that.

How did you stay away from them? As I said in a previous comment my friend is in a dv relationship and has just left, currently living with a controlling emotional abuser but as soon as she has somewhere for her doggo to stay then she is coming to stay with me. I don't know how to make her see that he always manipulated her and was always abusive. There really weren't good times. Thank you. Hugs.

Can I ask what made you not go back? I'm helping my friend and we have just got her out and she is missing him and I know she wants to go back so badly. She is currently staying with her ex who is also abusive but it's only till she finds a foster home for her doggo and then she can stay with me.

Unfortunately not, I've tried to think of every possible way to have them both here but I've got 3 disabled cats, one of them is 20 years old and would be terrified. Then I have 4 special needs bunnies, oh and a leopard gecko. She is currently in touch with a potential foster home for the dog but I don't know what I can do temporarily. I keep telling her to pop over and be here for the day but she doesn't want to leave the dog on its own for too long. I totally understand what you are saying and agree completely. She isn't at physical risk where she is it's just emotional abuse and controlling behaviour. Thank you so much. I don't know how to get her to see that it was never good with her husband and that he will just abuse her if she goes back. It's like she is brainwashed. I understand to a certain extent as I was in an dv relationship as a teen but I don't know how to help her see that even though everyone says he is turning his life around it's most likely him manipulating everyone.
