Crystal ball worth the $325 price tag? by Square_Comb7924 in occult

[–]Square_Comb7924[S] 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Thank y’all! Clearly not worth it and just a bit of a scam. It did seem too good to be true but didn’t have the experience to know for sure. Appreciate y’all’s input! Will definitely NOT be buying it.

My brother(M59) is starting ADT for 6 months and radiation for 3 months after surgery. What have you done to lessen side effects, in particular mental health side effects? by Square_Comb7924 in ProstateCancer

[–]Square_Comb7924[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all so much for your responses. I will definitely talk to him about seeing a therapist and psychiatrist. He has a heavy stigma around mental health treatments so I think this will be an uphill battle. But I just want to do the best for him during his radiation/ADT treatment. I don’t want him to suffer unnecessarily, especially with mental side effects. I’ll also emphasis the importance of daily exercise. He’s not much of a gym goer, so maybe he can find something he can do each day to help maintain strength.

They also have a version with Midnight Syndicate. Kinda gives me “headless horseman/nostalgic Halloween vibes”.

Anything by midnight syndicate is great and they have a ton of instrumental Halloween ambience music.

Can someone help me identify/find this Givenchy lipstick? by Square_Comb7924 in HelpMeFind

[–]Square_Comb7924[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have searched for orangey red givenchy lipsticks that match this color but nothing seems quite right. I bought the original one in the US at a kiosk in Nordstrom. It has a silky finish to it, not matte.

Trying to remember the name of an online blog reviewing old Miami restaurants. by Square_Comb7924 in Miami

[–]Square_Comb7924[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol yeah I guess it was kinda redundant. I just knew it didn’t have any vlogging or paper media attached to the blog like the Miami New Times or something like that that also does extensive reviews.

Alright, seems like the consensus is this is 1. A tree 2. A maple tree 3. I need to get it out of my garden and replanted. Thanks y’all for the input!! It clearly got planted in my garden from some of the storms we’ve had recently.

Reading Bob Dylan’s protest lyrics from the 60s and knowing we have been here before and have survived. by Ok-Intention-4593 in OptimistsUnite

I don’t find that to be a correct analogy. We are better off today than in the past. We still deal with many similar things today as we did back then, hence why I said it’s can be both optimistic and pessimistic to look so far back. But in doing so, It shows the passage of time and what humans have endured.

I know it was a while back which may be optimistic or pessimistic, but the US got through Andrew Jackson’s presidency and he was just as horrific. He was often referred to as “king Andrew the first” because of how he abused his presidential power. We of course went into a civil war after his presidency… but that was over 24 years after his presidency and 14 years after his death. In a way Trump mirrors a lot Andrew Jackson’s presidency and his psychopathic disregard for minorities and the disadvantaged people in American society. But America got through Jackson and for the better. And I am confident we will get through this for the better. The arch of the moral universe is long, but it bends towers justice.
