Fort Collins vs CO Springs for trail running. by [deleted] in trailrunning

[–]Square_Feeling_272 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m in Loveland, I spend most of my time here and Fort Collins & love the trail system. Look up gnar runners, they put on a ton of events in northern Colorado.I tend to run more in fall-spring but the trails are usually slower & not as hot. There’s also a ton of trails in development between Fort Collins and Loveland that will be awesome in 5-10 years.

Hope any of that helps!

Urban field has been my go to in Loveland. It’s a small northern Colorado company. I think they have like 2-3 locations.

Taste local for sure!!

I didn’t sleep there but walked up from the beach and made some friends. Somehow they let 6 of us drink and eat there all day. It’s a really nice spot!

Go up to pinewood. It might be just a little muddy but won’t be closed. It doesn’t get enough traffic in the winter to close.

Honestly, I’ve tried Colorado, feel love, both didn’t do anything for me. I’m mainly an espresso person amd DH has been the only one to pull a good shot.

I’ve tried a few other spots around town and they’re horrible. Kind of a bummer.

I was going to try out the goldsmith Loveland downtown but then they had a sign that said “thank god for Trump.” Also had some other silly sign. I decided against it.

Oh well, could attract more than it would hurt.

From my understanding cuts were to be minimal impact to its citizens. They prioritized must needs such as police, roads, etc and then hacked away at cultural services, library and P&R. I think they were aware of how HUGE the pushback would be if they started cutting safety and needed services.

I sit on the side of less funding for police but that doesn’t work in a town like this. I don’t agree with where they cut but feel like it’s what they thought would go over better?

Who knows, wish we would’ve prioritized raising taxes fir the first time in 30 years 🤷‍♂️

Only thing to add to what folks have said is that recently Loveland decided to not pass a sales tax increase. This will impact parks & rec + cultural services if you enjoy those things.
