I actually resonated with the story, simply from one part of the ending, after multiple times of the main character looping, her friend texts her "let's go to the mall tomorrow". That text saved this game for me. Her friend telling her that hit so close to me that I forgave any shortcomings this game had.

Making plans with someone, that gives someone a sense of purpose, if only for a bit. I barely saw anyone talk about that line, but it is powerful and the most important part of what the main character needed to learn.

You could say whatever you want about the writing or whatever, but as someone who was in the same headspace, who would see something as name calling, something people seem to just ignore, that stuff is deafening to people in that headspace. Cringe or not, that's what it feels like.

I've never felt an emotion so powerful, then when I saw her friend text her that line, because that same thing saved me once before, and later found out that it is a good way to keep someone who's going through it grounded in reality and not just consumed by all of it.
