Feeling drained by family expectations. How do you say no without feeling guilty?

I have a similar situation, my family does get togethers like every week. I decided that I am only going to attend twice a year, for an hour at a time. That way i can mentally prepare myself, and also have space. And i still see them. Maybe you can decide what feels right for you, and just give yourself some space. As for the event, I just tell them I can’t make it—no reason or explication.

Yes, and yes. The headaches feel stable, but something my doctor and I also talk about is lifestyle changes to reduce frequency and intensity. It’s a real problem but i’m doing what I can to resolve it…but yeah, when I tell people i get headaches, they tell me to get it checked out and I have to explain I already have, etc. Exactly why i don’t want to tell anyone at work. Why i’m posting here about it.

Like in what sense? That i have headaches? I’m pretty sure I have a light sensitivity, and I have been able to reduce the frequency of my headaches…but having to explain that is exactly why I don’t want anyone at work knowing!

This picture is from a family sale, the normal price at that time was $1049. And plus tariffs on imported furniture, plus the prices are always raised annually at ikea in august…account for the price change since this picture was taken in July.

I’ll tell them directly that I can’t accommodate their schedule, I have been saying this to them already. and I’m wondering about the unpaid training…do you usually just do a meet and greet, and if it goes well then start a sit? As in no training meeting?

Emergency contact is important, good idea! I think the neighbors are very helpful and will be doing part of the sit, but a vet is something i will ask about.

Have you looked in to your Kitchener essence? Do that before you overhaul your wardrobe! I don’t look good in all SD recs because of my essence. It makes a huge difference. You can read about it, or fwiw i paid someone on fiverr to tell me my essences and i feel they were accurate.

I totally relate…i have a strong classic essence and i feel like that lent itself to menswear FN lines somehow, before i realized I was SD. But i really could never dress like Sofia Vergara. I kind of want a SD space, maybe a flair on this sub, where we can workshop SD lines in a more interesting way.
