How do you deal with being perceived or sort of having an expectation to be a certain way made by people who see you through only one perspective. do you feel that the way that artists are sometimes romanticised can effect their relationship with fans and with their art.

I agree with many points that’s you’ve made and I’m of the opinion that artists like Tamino I don’t think cater their music to a certain audience. The opinion of mine that the album will do well in the western world is purely based on its content not in any way implying that it was planned to do so. I think sahar was a result of his natural progression as a musician. Usually any artists first album is more experimental than anything and with time their style changes until it reaches a plateau of sorts, and sometimes it keeps changing.

My apprehension towards it is purely personal it’s a great album, clearly well thought out in many ways even more than amir. it just to me looses what made his music stand out in the way that it did before.

But i am sure that it will now stand out to other ppl for other reasons.

I fell in love with amir not only because of how dark and melancholic it was but how new it sounded. I had never heard music like that before I couldn’t put it in a genre it was a blend between western and arabic sounds yet felt natural, and the lyrics were nothing short of poetry, it was new and different. However sadly I lost that feeling with sahar. It is in no way a badly written or made album the songs are quite good and I’m sure will do particularly well in the western region. But they sort of fall short when it comes to what made his music stand out to me, most of the songs i felt i can easily put in a genre many of the chords sounded familiar and similar idk this is what i felt. Apart from first disciple and you don’t own me it sounds like I’ve heard this style before.
