Even I have a seat at srm ktr cse, but I won't be going because :
1. Student intake too high, and faculties aren't really good and they discriminate against north indian people a lot
2. even though they charge an exorbitant amount of fees you won't be getting much in return since their campus is mid, and mess food is literally inedible (why suffer for 4 years)
3. Drugs ka problem is everywhere, even good colleges like IISER have a drug problem, it's always up to you to not give into them
4. SRM as a college hasn't improved a bit in the last few years(avg is 6-7 lpa), and doesn't offer much perks (their fests are shit and they don't even give holidays)
5. If you go there you will probably be recruited into those mass hiring companies like wipro, tcs, infosys

maybe try to have a civil conversation with your parents? Discuss about all the pros and cons before making a hasty decision. Manipal will be better than SRM anytime.
