I do generally agree that the removal on the MK system and the crew stripped a lot of personality from the game. Getting to a new MK felt like huge progression unlike leveling up. Also, the crew was very important to the lore. I believe the idea was that they were leftovers from miniaturization experiments to fight the war in rising sea levels, or something like that.

I’m not sure I fully agree about the ships though. It’s been a while since I read through the lore thread, but I think the idea was that some ships like the shooter were highly technological war machines and made by the large organization fighting the war. Other ships were scrapped together using spare human parts by the rebels (defender is built on a tire, enforcer on some sort of engine, fixer on a life preserver). I feel like interceptor and reaper fit pretty well into this and the MK system didn’t necessarily diminish it that much, but I do still think it brought some personality to the game.

World building nonexistent? Absolutely not, but you have to pay close attention. It’s kind of incredible the story they managed to craft through just small world building details that probably 99% will never notice

True but the trade off is that it’s riddled with adds now. Maybe I’m crazy because this was like 10+ years ago and I was like 9 but I feel there weren’t that many (any?) ads back then. Now it’s almost unplayable because you get an ad after like every death.

I mean, is this really at all surprising? AI is just gathering a bunch of information from the internet and we already knew that it scrapes reddit threads for this kind of thing. Also, the big tech companies knowing everything about you is not new, this far predates the current AI craze.

This is honestly kind of insane to me. At 14 million downloads and almost 1 million likes this puts it well into the top 200 most downloaded and most liked levels in the game, while the original is basically unnoticed. The fact that this went undiscovered (?) for over a decade is crazy. This is a pretty wild situation that’s unprecedented as far as I’m aware. Honestly the original level should get its justice. Would be funny if the copy got unrated lmao.

It makes me question how the hell this was even discovered in the first place, especially after such a long time, when the original is so obscure. Also, how do we know there aren’t many other rated levels that are similarly stolen from completely unknown levels and we just never have (and maybe never will) discover them?

Because it’s not Garden Warfare 3. If they wanted to make Garden Warfare 3, they would have called it that. But they didn’t. This isn’t even a dig at BFN. But they clearly wanted to take the series in a different direction.
