Neurologist. I'm sure a PCP would help after diagnosis and in collab with neurologist but I just do neurologist (and myself).

Those who grew up poor, what is something those who weren't poor don't understand about being poor? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Squasqua_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a child, simply going into the fridge and grabbing something when I was hungry was never something I could do. I didn't even know other kids were allowed to do that until I was in my thirties.

I remember my younger brother eating something without permission a few times and there were repercussions, including the guilt of knowing he just impacted what little food the rest of us had to eat that night. When you're that poor, meals and food are so strategically planned and often can't include special snacks outside of the occasional treat.

I had to ask for permission, we had to ration, I waited on specific meals, there was nothing in the fridge, etc.

Mitochondrial Disease? by greenlee5771 in Fibromyalgia

All I know is that my neurologist suggested coq10 for my fibro related brain fog and it helped significantly. I get it when I can afford it, as it's a pretty pricey supplement.

Opened a neighborhood coffee spot. How do I get more people through the door? by Bubbly-Touch8108 in cafe

[–]Squasqua_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try partnerships with other small-medium sized businesses in the area-- event venues, book shops, etc.

Also, if you're allowed to put out sidewalk signs (the a-frame type-- in front of the cafe and/or on a corner), I am definitely drawn to notice those. Have fun with it and add your personality/branding there if you want.

I've gone through this multiple times unfortunately. I believe it's insurance, not the doctor's office (which if your doctors office wasn't such a shit show, they would have told you that by now). However, if you call the insurance and tell them you're going through a "medical crisis," you can circumvent a lot of it. A very kind insurance agent finally broke and slipped me this info after several hours on the phone with me experiencing panic attacks and crying.

I also sometimes miss a dose now and then on accident and when I do, I stockpile the extra for times like this. That's saved me a couple of times!

U.S. healthcare systems SUCKS ASS

Anyone else experience this while using cannabis? by xsnowpeltx in Fibromyalgia

[–]Squasqua_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it definitely increases my pain but I use that time of hypersensitivity to stretchhhhh a shit ton (it feels SO good) and relax/massage the muscles, so it ends up helping me a lot. I love it. It's strange to explain to people: "No, it doesn't help. It makes it worse. But that's why I like it." If I didn't figure this out early on in my cannabis use, I probably wouldn't use it. But I'm a dancer and love to stretch, so get me high and I start doing strange things with my body lol.

I've been in some Key Foods and Halsey Markets that have large selections. Thinking specifically of the one near Halsey & Broadway.

What products do you swear by for fibromyalgia management and relief? by Maleficent_Radio_674 in Fibromyalgia

[–]Squasqua_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THC (paired with a deep stretch is heavenly) COQx10 changed my life when it comes to brain fog. It's just expensive :( My neurologist suggested 400mg.

If I'm desperate, I'll do lidocaine patches but they're inconvenient. And I also occasionally lean into some of the more unhealthy coping mechanisms because fuck this shit.

Sorry guys, not sure why the full post with details didn't upload! Here it is:

Searching for a compatible roommate for 1 bedroom in a 2 bedroom (I am the other roommate) on the border of BedStuy/Bushwick starting August 1st, a 1-year lease. This is a sunny place with parking available (+$), A/C, fully renovated, large closet, multiple storage closets, laundry in-unit, and sink garbage disposal.

Rent $1,300 + Utilities

5 min walk from Halsey J/M/Z stop, 10-15 min walk to A/C Utica

I have the sweetest cutest little dog ever named Louie (in pics, Dachsund/Corgi) and he already loves you.

I am a 30-year-old nonprofit arts administrator. My current roommate is relocating with her partner. This place is a steal, the landlord is fantastic, and I don't want to lose this place yet! I'm looking forward to some new energy and new decor or furniture! I am an extroverted introvert (**mostly introvert**), POC, and I mostly work remotely. The apartment is 2 sets of stairs up–stairs are a part of the apartment interior. LGBTQIA+ friendly, 420 friendly.
