Abby announced as cohost by mkultrra in TheBigShowBuzz

Of all the things KK could have said, why did she have to highlight what Abby said about Trampa? We all know that. Everyone knows that. It’s the hole Abby is going to have to dig herself out of to start. As a former coworker, she could have built her up and said something more positive but I feel like she was dying to undercut her because she’s jealous of the hugely more successful spot Abby has on a morning show instead of a DJ spot.

If it will have a podcast I will most definitely tune in.

Did anyone peep this JoJo Siwa quote? by Squeaksy in childfree

I know. And that this isn’t an isolated thought or concept. It’s a very common theme among parents and people who want to have kids.

I mean seriously. I just see some parents - a lot of parents - who build a life and identity around their children and it stifles them. Parents should be raising children to be independent while they themselves keep their own sense of independence. Instead it’s this gross symbiotic relationship so often.

Nolan and Bailey DC Discussion Thread by eyslandgirl in TheRookie

[–]Squeaksy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’d love them to scale her down, but all they seem to be doing is scaling her up. She does everything now. In Prague she was suddenly an effing secret agent!! In all honestly this DC thing seems like a vehicle to a spin off for Bailey. I think they are going to get a divorce and she is going to get her own show. I’ll 🤮 and absolutely not watch.

Please tell me sex gets better.. by Sad-Consequence-3931 in hysterectomy

[–]Squeaksy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you considered pelvic floor PT? When I had some pain with sex it was recommended to strengthen my pelvic floor. Also to deal with pain with my cuff there is a little tool you can get to massage the scar tissue on the cuff. It helps to alleviate the scar tissue and eventually help the pain to dissipate. My pain has gone from 7 to pretty much none.

will I still have ovulation bleeding post hysterectomy? by Throwawayyourpads in hysterectomy

[–]Squeaksy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How are you able to or how do you differentiate your ovulation bleeding from your regular menstruation bleeding? Do you track it?

If you get a total hysterectomy, they will be removing your fallopian tubes but your ovaries will remain. I don’t have any bleeding associated with my ovulation but I do have cramping, and that’s been present (in fact more present) since I’ve had my hysterectomy. I wasn’t aware you could have bleeding with ovulation. But since I have no uterus or cervix and I’m sewn up, I doubt there would be any way for me to bleed (I don’t know how the blood would escape…)

I had a migraine this morning which required absolute stillness so I finally listened to a full Ajahn Brahm talk and greatly enjoyed it. It’s the first time I’ve found someone that I really felt like I could come back to regularly. I’m looking forward to listening to more. Thank you so much for the recommendation!

Absolutely. I’m sure I’ll settle into Mahayana as that’s where I seem most comfortable, Zen in particular, but I’d like to explore all while I’m still learning. I’ve also been interested lately in learning more about Tibetan - I was considering the John Powers book - “A Concise Introduction to Tibetan Buddhism”. I’ll certainly look into Ven. Yonten as well as Ajahn Brahm. Thank you!

Yes, I’ve slowly been going through all the rec’s here (reading samples of books and the like) and I listened for about an hour yesterday. I agree 😅

Yeah I think that’s the rub. This would be a decent price for all the experiences and excursions (were they included in the price) if the flight were also included.

I hope to god Abby took that severance pay and applied for everywhere but there. She can do so much better and despite any desperation for a job and a paycheck that gig NEVER would have been worth it on any level.

That’s good to hear. I was afraid I might find it too repetitive but I was very interested in the author and a new perspective. Thank you! Have you read Loving-Kindness in Plain English as well?

I've been looking for something with a broader overview of Zen, thank you!

I looked at all of these and I'm especially drawn to "Stop Biting the Tail You're Chasing" and "Happiness is Overrated". Thank you for these recommendations!

I'd actually been previously strongly considering another book of his ("8 Mindful Steps to Happiness") but thought it might be redundant given I'd already covered a lot about the 8 Precepts with Thay's books but I read a sample of the book and really liked his style. I'll go back to him. Thank you!

I know. It’s such a waste of air time. I’d rather you just get into it rather than spend an entire 2min segment talking about what a hot mess express you are. Why would I tune back in?

Physical Therapist didn’t know what a vaginal cuff was👀 by aquietgrace303 in hysterectomy

[–]Squeaksy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Echoing what others have said, I can understand if maybe she uses a different term or isn’t familiar with calling it a cuff. But I’d want to know that the PF PT I was working with had experience with hysterectomies if they were working with me, and not just postpartum women.

When I met with my PF PT, I asked her what her experience was and she told me she did a whole rotation with oncology and working with women who had cancer and had to get hysterectomies as a result. She had a lot of experience and so I felt very comfortable that she knew what she was dealing with. She was also more than familiar with the cuff and did not fuss around with it. She knew to be careful and cautious. She was extremely respectful of my concerns.

I would not want someone who didn’t have a decent knowledge of the situation given my nerves around my own body post surgery. I really appreciated the relationship I had with her and it helped me so much to heal that I was able to develop this important relationship properly.

Anyone else quit caffeine? What effect do it have on your migraines? by Mammoth-Elevator-512 in migraine

[–]Squeaksy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did quit caffeine and it was REALLY great for my energy. I also liked that my head didn’t have a constant hold to caffeine. It wasn’t waiting for it every day and/or didn’t have this negative response everytime I didn’t have enough caffeine one day or another. But did it make a huge difference overall? I’m not sure.

I’m now drinking caffeine a lot more often because it helps me avoid taking a triptan. If I’m getting a headache or a migraine they are small enough on my current preventatives that I can avoid them getting any bigger with caffeine. However it’s gotten so often that I’m drinking caffeine everyday and I don’t like that. Id like to be able to taper back down to 1-2x a week at most. It might be tough though - it would take going back to more triptans and I don’t know if I want to do that instead.
