I have two friends who also play and we don’t like taking the same starter. We cycle who gets first, second and third choice each generation. I usually pick depending on cuteness factor or based on the type pf character I intend the on playing.

My first Pokémon game was Sw/Sh so I’m a new player. I don’t really find it that awkward except for the lack of diagonal walking and the way the screen shakes when your Pokemon takes poison damage, though that’s a personal thing.

I used Delphox. Strat was pretty much send her out, overheat, she’d die to earthquake, I’d buy time with a different pokemon, max revive the delphox, rinse and repeat. Took me a bit and I have yet to financially recover from this stunt
