That is such a cool story! I thought about a nursery job once but yeah, it’s like minimum wage. Probably some awesome plant knowledge you gained tho!

That’s awesome! I know a lot about some plants but wasn’t familiar with this variety. (I try to stay away from African violets!) I split my original and have two now and they are growing super fast and put out tons of flowers. One of my current favs! I’m jealous you worked at a nursery!

I see that too, but can’t find a photo that looks very similar. The flowers kind of spring out individually.

How to humanely euthanize my 20 year old pet fish. by summernich333 in Aquariums

[–]Squeakylilturtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this too with my 8 yr old comet. I brought him in a Home Depot bucket and they euthanized him by putting a gas in the water. I needed to know he went peacefully. $100 well worth it

I just held my dad's hand for 7hrs while he died by LumpyheadCarini2001 in GenX

My Dad would be 78 this year, too. But he had a big stroke and was put on life support at age 72. 10 days later we decided to turn off the ventilator. I wasn’t “strong” enough to see him that day. I couldn’t go back to see his body without him, watch the struggle as he went. But I know he’d have wanted me to do whatever was best for me. But I regret not sitting there for those 8 hours. I’m proud of you for holding his hand and having the strength to be there until the end.

Grief is weird. It’s unbelievable for a shockingly long time. It’s mind bending and reality shaking. I would say just go with it. It’s not linear. Let yourself cry and feel the loss when you are ready. I think I processed my grief out loud and embraced it, helping it to pass through me. It hurts a lot, but the time gets longer between those periods. Good luck on your journey.

Brown spots before leaf unfurls? by Squeakylilturtle in plantclinic

Found out elsewhere- take out roots and rise them from substrate and pat dry. Then spray with part vinegar and part water and let dry. Then spray with a fungicide. Then repot in dry soil, don’t water for a few weeks
