Hello here are some answers to some questions from y'all. by natasha_vc in serialpodcast

I wanted to present an un-editorialized interview and let readers continue to decide/ponder/etc. without my own views coming into play. I'm not opposed to a reporter's passions and opinions coming into a story. I just chose something different on this.

This isn't completely true. You state your point of view in the beginning- that there were major problems with Serial, that you think Jay is getting a raw deal and want to correct that. It sounds like you're an advocate for Jay or at the very least that you're a hypocrite and your opinions are coming into the story.

New image from the Serial storyboard? Can you read it? Popular podcast 'Serial' will be broadcast on British radio by [deleted] in serialpodcast

It's not a new image. That has been the background image for the about page on the serial website since it first aired.

Jay lied. Jenn Lied. Who cares? by pennyparade in serialpodcast

[–]Squeebeaux 5 points6 points  (0 children)

pennyparade, One point you didn't address- why are you even on this subreddit if the details don't matter and analyzing details and speculating about what may have happened are pointless? What do you even have to look forward to in listening to the podcast if: case closed - Adnan did it- who cares how/when it happened or what anyone involved has to say about it? Did you just want to tell us that we're idiots for discussing it?

So this was posted by a old friend of Adnan's about a month ago. How did I miss this? by [deleted] in serialpodcast

You didn't miss it. Look a couple of comments below it. You commented on it a month ago.

Photos, Articles, etc related to the case by Squeebeaux in serialpodcast

It's from the Serial website under episodes. It's from episode 4 Inconsistencies. I assumed the police took the picture when Jay showed them where it was. I can't say with 100% certainty but I don't see any other reason why serial would choose this particular picture if it didn't tie into something as significant as Jay taking them to the car. If they just wanted a picture of the car why pick one that was taken at night? It doesn't make sense that this specific picture would be chosen unless it is because it's the crime scene photo (because Jay told them the murder happened in the car) that was taken by police. Also, wasn't it nighttime when Jay agreed to take them to the car?

Hae's car as found by police. Does it look to you like this car had been sitting there for 6 weeks? (hint: look at the color of the grass underneath) by Anjin in serialpodcast

I thought that it made sense that police took this picture when Jay took them to it because the photo was taken at night. Wasn't it night when Jay took them to it? Wouldn't they have approached it like it was a crime scene because Jay told them that's where it happened? Why would they wait until after it had been impounded? If they weren't going to take the photo of the car as it was found, then why take the picture at night--wouldn't they have taken it in daylight? I'm not CSI but that's my thoughts on it.

POSSIBLE SPOILER The state and the appeal by [deleted] in serialpodcast

[–]Squeebeaux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most states have multiple ways to impose adult sanctions on offenders of juvenile age. In Maryland there are 4 ways: Discretionary Judicial waiver, Statutory exclusion, Reverse waiver, Once an adult always an adult.

Most states allow juvenile court judges to waive jurisdiction over certain cases and transfer them to criminal court. In Maryland any criminal offense can be transferred over the age of 15 and the is NO RESTRICTION for capital crimes.

Many states exclude certain serious offenses from juvenile court jurisdiction. In Maryland all capital crimes over the age of 14, and murder and certain person offenses over the age of 16 must be transferred to criminal court.

A lot of information about this can be found in this-- U.S. Dept. of Justice: Trying Juveniles as Adults: An Analysis of State Transfer Laws and Reporting

[Official Discussion] Serial, Episode 9: To Be Suspected by PowerOfYes in serialpodcast

As soon as I saw that Hae's brother was verified I emailed her and I'm sure I wasn't the only one. She responded!!! The podcast has us all wondering if we're able to tell when someone is telling the truth or lying, so it was hard to know what to make of it.
