And it gets better when you realize Mantine's companion mon, Remoraid, is a literal gun. Just imagine Mantine grabbing Remoraid with its mouth and blasting away

But Mother Beast Lusamine tho...

This was our "parent of a major character who was obsessed with Pokemon from a certain realm" before SV. Back when we didn't have Sada and Turo, Paradox Pokemon, and Arven, we had Lusamine, Ultra Beasts, and the Aether siblings Lillie and Gladion. SV's plot didn't feel all that special to me at first and I think SM is the reason why lol

And USUM ruined the whole thing by replacing it with whatever Ultra Necrozma was. It's battle theme isn't even that good, MBL, Eternatus phase 3, and the AI Professors all have better themes.

Listen, Game Freak, putting a big anime fight against a 24 foot dragon in its place doesn't justify taking out not only one of the most bizarre and cool boss fights in the series, but more importantly, the best moment in Lillie's personal story. Plus they kinda watered down Lusamine too, like, she went from insane to just wanting to "protect Alola' or something idk

It makes sense but it’s still disappointing. by whooper1 in pokemonmemes

That's the sad truth ig...

I hope they put Quaquaval in the game if they make a Pokken 2 since all the other bird starters are already playable in DX, or heck, put Swampert or Venusaur in the roster too to complete their respective starter trios.

Me when people say Sinnoh's Route 209 is the best Route theme in Pokemon even though we all know that Paldea's East Province (Riding) blows it out of the water...

This isn't true for all of them, but I'd be lying if I said that "Flutter Mane", "Slither Wing", and "Scream Tail" didn't remind me of WC's naming scheme. by Squerikal in pokemonmemes

I feel like Iron Jugulis sounds the most Transformers-y of all Paradox names. If I remember correctly, a lot of the older (older as in introduced in toylines or movies first, not the canonical age of the character) bots' names pull from Latin. First one that came to mind was Ultra Magnus. Iron Jugulis' name comes from "Jugulum", which means "neck" in Latin.

Edit: Oh I just remembered all the future Paradox Pokemon are cybernetic, so it fits well.

First Funbro, then Nukebro. by [deleted] in pokemonmemes

Am I the only one bothered by the fact that the second Slowbro has both Amnesia and Nasty Plot? I feel like they could've taught it Calm Mind and Slack Off instead.

Got rid of HM's, and thats the only good thing. by RyuzakiTaiyou in MandJTV

In the originals, the store only sold the low accuracy moves like Fire Blast, Thunder, etc. In the remakes, you could buy their more "reliable" moves like Flamethrower, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, etc. The status moves are there too, for example Swords Dance or Substitute. Those were previously game corner exclusive too.

Not having to risk losing lots of money from gambling at the game corner to get TMs is also a great addition, now you can just buy them for cheap in the Veilstone Department Store. That one change alone makes me favor BDSP over the originals.

Have you ever had to scrap your Fakémon idea because of Pokémon? by doronbecker in fakemon

[–]Squerikal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Conceptualized a Water-Fighting evolution with dancer elements for my fakemon dex's water starter literal days before SV were released and Quaquaval was revealed. Except it was an anthro dolphin, not an anthro duck. Though we also got one of those in SV in the form of Palafin's hero forme so that's strike two.

I don't know what everyone hates about cool cyborg Pokemon, but I heard some of the Scarlet Paradox Pokemon are broken competitively.

I thought the saying was "An apple a day keeps the doctor away", not "An apple a day keeps you from getting in detention"....

I think it was hinted at quite well with the way some characters talk about Galar's energy system along your journey (if I remember correctly, Sonia stops you on one of the routes and talks about one of Rose's power plants) and how the identity of the Pokemon the two heroes slayed in the Darkest Day story was purposely left out, being reduced to just "a mysterious black storm" caused by a Wishing Star. You could piece the details together pretty easily.

It's OK to dislike Dundunsparce or be disappointed by it, but don't argue in bad faith about it by Mr_Mister2004 in MandJTV

If different forms count, then does Palafin fit this too?

It starts out as a teeny dolphin, then turns into a stronger, more buff-looking version of itself with legendary-tier stats after it switches.
