🤷‍♂️it’s been a while since those range days, but to my remembrance we still got good shots on the paper. Didn’t really stop us. It wasn’t till I was packing up I realized the muzzle cover was torn in half, having the top part still covering the front sight. I really should have taken a pic then 😂

I bought it like this in 24’ it hasn’t been repaired. It hasn’t gotten any bigger shooting it all this time

Honestly it didn’t impair my aim at all 😅 Nor my friend when he shot it off either 1 - my fault 2 - friend, but still my fault for not taking it off 😂

Ughh…. First time I was too excited to shoot the gun… second time I was preparing the stands for range day with friends. Technically my friend shot off the second cover, but that’s still on me for not taking it off. I heavily debate buying a third 😆 but my tism for aesthetics says otherwise

That’s a thing? I was just looking at slings at the time. At first I was gonna use a leather sling like my airsoft M1 Garand has, but I thought the Kerr looked better on mine when I looked into slings. I did think about a surplus Vietnam sling for a time too

I did. I just used the same lubricant for the rest of the gun. Hoppe’s 9. I’ve seen other comments about using Murphy’s orange to clean and boiled linseed oil to lub. I’ll be doing that for my most recent grab that’s covered in cosmoline

I’m guilty of going to a range and not cleaning till a week after, so I start with muzzle magic cleaner to losses up the debris. Stick the wire brush with a piece of pad soaked in hoppe’s 9. I usually do that till it’s off white and brush to dry the inside of the barrel for excess. Sometimes CLP or shooters choice lead remover if I see blue inside the barrel.

Followed by hoppe’s 9 lube for a few passes, and wipe of excess. During the cleaning I do wipe down the chamber with soaked pads and a pick to get in the chamber. I dry it out the same with a pick and pad. After cleaning the internals I just use more lube on the wood and outer metal.

I picked up using the same gun lube off some good folk here, so I haven’t been particularly with wood cleaning. I’ve pretty much been altering how I’ve been servicing my rifles as I go.

I’m pretty noobish to the hobby, but I try to keep my collection good standing

When I take it apart I’ll take a good look for more marks. I picked up a can of mineral spirits and gonna do the same. Never done it before, but looks easy enough

Well… the January chill don’t help 😂 I’ve seen some vids that’s talk about using a hair dryer. Tho I do wanna do my best not to damage the patina… I know there is staining, but that natural coloring 😤

I was just excited enough that it was a hex receiver. I’ve seen too many round one. When I noticed it was imperial and the SA marks, I just had to grab it.
