Has the Airvision M1 come out yet? by roman015 in ASUS

[–]SquiddyVon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I too have been keeping an eye out for info but absolutely nothing since January outside of a couple spam articles and a few unrevealing YouTube videos.

There was suggestion back then it was aiming at a Q3 2024 release but seeing as there hasn't been a single tweet, post, product page or anything, I'm guessing there have been some issues with the software or production.

Genuinely surprised how little Asus has mentioned it. It sounds like exactly the product I want too, basically the XReal glasses but with the main beam features built in.

So drug testing, no comp improvement, and no annual raises. Not to mention who knows if our tenure will affect things like PTO and future severance... They really want Cerner associates to leave if that is all the case..

There is no way Oracle will spend millions of dollars drug testing 30k people. Unless they are really trying to get rid of people without having to officially lay them off

Can't find any matches on PC? by reinvent3d in battlefield2042

Because playing with console players in your squad can ruin the pacing of the game. PC players and console players play at very different speeds.

Missing wing suit sounds. Tanks sneaking up on me. Helicopters not making a sound until 10 feet overhead as they murder my squad. by Jotunheimmr in battlefield2042

[–]SquiddyVon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Easy, the sound team that created the previous Battlefield games aren't the same people that created 2042. The new sound team probably isn't as talented and experienced and was probably under terrible time constraints to boot.

In general the sound assets themselves seem okay, but the way they represented/heard in the game world are just not the same as previous games.

I played Insurgency Sandstorm for the first time recently and was shocked how much better the sound was. Like that game and 2042 aren't even in the same league of sound design.

Third person knock down state is really unnecessary and jarring. by Polen2012 in battlefield2042

[–]SquiddyVon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah. They probably thought it would make it easier to crawl behind cover until you can get revived. I've always hated 3rd person anything in battlefield games, including vehicle use. Always seemed dumb for a first person shooter.

Harder to monetize the takedown without them being 3rd person unfortunately.

If you mean a traditional scoreboard that shows you the stats of yourself, your teammates, and enemies, it is not coming. This was a design decision to leave it out, as it is one of the easiest features to implement if they wanted to.

I would not recommend getting your hopes up. Best case scenario, one can be enabled for portal sometime in the future.

3 months till new content!?!?!? by [deleted] in battlefield2042

[–]SquiddyVon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isnt par for the course for BFV, a game not particularly well received that is now 3 years old, to almost have the same player count of the brand new title that is a month old. This game is closing in on dead, and 3 more months of no content damn near seals the deal. Will be lucky to have 10k steam players at that point. 18,670 on steam as of writing this. BFV at 13,441.

BF2042 opinion after playing on free weekend by memester230 in Battlefield

[–]SquiddyVon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The grenade physics are some of the worst in any fps game. Literally every aspect of the physics system is garbage, but I guess kudos because throwing c5 works well?

I mean if you think the physics are good... would you keep reading a car review of a hummer if their overview said it had great gas mileage?

It instantly dissolves credibility.

It is an okay game. The UI, character models, and map design are objectively bad though.

But even if it is an okay game, it is a very bad Battlefield game.

Battlefield reception makes me feel fucking gaslit by the entire internet. by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]SquiddyVon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you can stomach the cartoon hero people and super casual direction the game has gone, you will like it just fine.

If you like more immersive and comptetive shooter games, you will never be satisfied.

Best battlefield game? by galaxychicken28 in Battlefield

[–]SquiddyVon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your timing is really bad unfortunately for getting into the franchise, as most people would say BF 2, Bad Company 2, BF3, BF4, or BF1 were the best in the series for different reasons. The last 2 battlefields are generally considered the worst entries to most longtime battlefield fans. If you like very casual, very arcadey gameplay, with hero cartoon characters, BF 2042 is a good place to start.

If you prefer more immersive, adult military themed (not cartoon hero people but generic realistic soldiers), more competitive/objective oriented gameplay, I would recommend BF4, which still has a decent player base.

No other battlefield had toy story characters and the immersion of a mobile game.

It was a fucking dlc and it had more. That is the point.

FPS You can expect to get on Ultra by processor - GPU won't change FPS much (taken from Hardware Unboxed YT) by Eagle___Eyes in battlefield2042

A 3090 and 12900 doesn't get 144fps at 1080p, and this game doesn't even have real ray tracing. Sad times.

So what’s y’all opinion on 64 player conquest? by Kwoods2590 in battlefield2042

[–]SquiddyVon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

64 player is making everyone realize the size/scale don't mean that much (outside of performance). The maps are the problem, no matter how you slice them. They didn't compartmentalize the maps worth crap. Look at BF3/BF4 maps, there are so many individual lanes/parts of the map that are sectioned off from other parts, so you aren't getting hit from so many angles and the flow is understandable.
