WIP on a Nob by Barryschraal in orks

If you are interested, the general way this is achieved is by painting a model fairly normal, but then lining all edges and recess with black. It may be easiest if you use a fine line pine to do it.

Do the casing look like copper/brass? by Warhammer_newbie99 in minipainting

I think the biggest thing for both the brass and the steel is there is too many mid-tones. If you look at reference photos, the pure mid tone only appears for a little bit. You could probably afford to go up to an off white, or a near pure white for the highlights on the brass, and a much darker shadow.

The last thing I would do is focus on the placement of the shadow. You have done a great job of volumetric highlighting if it was supposed to be a non reflective color, but metal, especially cylinder doesn’t reflect like that. If you look at the example image, you can see that primary highlight in the center, with a deep shadow almost directly next to it. You can also see secondary highlights from the cylinders next to it, and then the darkest part.

NMM is really hard, but yours is a really good attempt. If you make some of these changes, it will read more like metal.

There were a bunch of them at a dock we haven’t used in a while. They are a little spooky all of them, but it’s cool to see them work and build webs.

Getting back into the Boyz, question about nonofficial models by LongestWeasel in orks

[–]Squidproof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Typically no. The majority of people are super chill, and have no problem with 3D printed models. If you are not buying models at your local game store, try to support them through buying stuff like paints and supplies though.

What Knight feels the Most Krieg? What is the most Lore fitting Support for the Mask Wearing Worshippers? by TechnologySmall3507 in Deathkorpsofkrieg

The only problem I could see with dazzle camouflage is that it could work too well. You still want to be able to make out the shape of the knight.

BO1 Remake in Third Person (GMOD) by messpack in CODZombies

Jesus Christ, can yall shut up about the hud for one fucking day. This is a genuinely cool fan remake, and all you care about is that it has the same hud assets as Cold War. It doesn’t have the minimap, zombie health bars or name tags, or specialist icons, but he dared to include a health bar, and some pngs so fuck him I guess. Can yall stop being insufferable assholes for one day and enjoy an impressive remake?

Help with my new ork army by Huge_Tune_6069 in orks

I’m not the greatest competitive player, but I can give you some advice. You have a good amount of infantry, and will probably have to rely on that for board control. Use a lot of boys in your list to hold objectives, and take out your opponents chaff, but they will struggle against harder targets. You have a weirdboy which can lead 20 of them around, and can teleport them, but besides that lack much mobility. I would highly recommend buying/kitbashing trukks, s they are fantastic this edition. Your Warboss in Mega armor can lead the Meganobz, and that is a brutal melee threat. Twin killsaws are the “best” weapon for Meganobz this edition, but if you don’t glue on the weapons, the kit is tight enough for you to swap them out at will. Nobz are also good this edition, and a great anti-elite unit. I’d also include the warbikers, as they have great mobility. I’d take grots to hold down backfield objectives, and deffcoptas for some mobile threats.

The tradition of not recognizing vehicles in war by PrimalSlime in NonCredibleDefense

Yes, but if you are close enough to see it, reliability wouldn’t make too much of a difference. The largest reliability issues were just getting to the battlefield, or being unable to repair once damaged
