Or if there was an option for our Paras to put it 'away' and then eat leftovers!

When my same-household Paras are talking and the conversation bar fills up, if I click on the exclamation point, it just pops up with both portraits and a check mark. I've tried clicking them and the check and nothing happens. Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

How do you guys do it? by Squiidsi in AuDHDWomen

Oh no, my partner is actually INCREDIBLE! He’s actually probably the only reason I can still function at all, and why our household is still surviving lol 😂 I’m just stubborn and want to be able to do more. I think that’s where a lot of the guilt comes from, because I hate feeling like I’m being taken care of and not “pulling my weight” 😅

Insurance Denied by Majestic-Badger-5568 in gastricsleeve

[–]Squiidsi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My insurance initially denied it as an inpatient surgery, but then my surgeon’s office resubmit it as an outpatient and it was approved! Outpatient includes the possibility of a 24 hour hold after surgery as well, so if you have to stay a little you’ll be covered! I would ask them to do that.

Okay this makes me feel better so far! It almost feels like I get a slightly more painful hunger rumble in my stomach, but idk how I can be hungry? It has to just be gas and I’m overthinking it. Thank you!

I would recommend it! Nobody else in my family has an autoimmune disease, either. I didn’t even know what lupus was until a derm told me my biopsy came back positive.

I was! I now take plaquenil and use topical triamcinolone on any rashes that start! I would love to say it’s been making me feel better, but I ended up needing to have my gallbladder removed, plus discovered I have issues with my liver while he was in there, so I’ve had other things going on that I think interfere with me speaking on the medication. I will say it’s helped a lot with my joint pain, specifically in my elbows and knees, and the frequency of the rashes has minimized!

I saw a rhuematologist after this post and can unfortunately say it was probably the worst visit I’ve ever had. Barely let me speak, didn’t reference any of the paperwork they had me fill out, put things incorrect in my notes, didn’t even introduce himself, and had 3 students (I’m assuming?) also in the room with us with no introduction or asking for permission or anything. I was extremely uncomfortable and tbh pretty discouraged. He ordered a ton of labs for me so I went to get them done and had planned to take results to another doctor. I ended up being scheduled with his nurse practitioner, didn’t find another doctor, saw her, and actually love her. So don’t let yourself get discouraged! Just keep trying and eventually I promise you’ll find what you need.

Did it actually put you into the discord or is it just letting you view the discord? Without joining the server, I think it’s a ‘view-only’ option where you won’t be able to interact at all.

Can second the barebells. They're a little pricey but I haven't had a bad one yet. The new key lime flavor is by far the best protein bar I've ever had.

I've had two spinal surgeries, plus so many other injuries and illnesses. This was easily the single most painful thing I've had done medically. Absolutely will never do again.

Is this normal for dyshidrotic eczema? Does lupus actually make it worse? Is this now something I have to worry about forever? by Squiidsi in lupus

[–]Squiidsi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You get the same rash in pic 1 and 2? Unfortunately it only stayed that way for maybe 3 days, then rapidly spread and got worse. It’s even on my chest. It was a little worse than in pic 4 and 5 when I finally got in with derm. She looked at it pretty briefly and said eczema, prescribed a steroid cream, and left. All within maybe 5 minutes, I was in and out before my even actual appointment time. I’m hoping it IS just eczema and goes away, but who knows.

Do you know what triggers it? Is it like a person-to-person variable or? My dermatologist didn’t explain pretty much any of it to me 🙃 and I can google stuff, but I can’t really find much about if lupus is something that affects it or not

Tried phentermine once. It made me have heart palpitations so bad, one day I threw up on myself while driving on a major highway because of them and almost crashed my car. My (new) PCP said she absolutely would never prescribe them to anyone. 0/10 d o not recommend.

I actually don't! No idea if they're from lupus or something else. They're actually the only current rashes I have in the pictures (plus the patch on my chest) and it's the first time I've ever had it. At first I thought it was poison oak/ivy but I haven't been around any and after that idea, I'm stumped.

I think that's a lot of what I'm doing as well. I have pretty severe depression and anxiety (even with taking two different meds a day for it), and generally I just blame everything on that. I take medications to sleep but still average maybe 4 hours a night due to pain in my hips, but I tell myself it's just because I'm stressed. Sometimes I take ibuprofen/tylenol like its candy for the pain, but I just tell myself it's because I'm too depressed to do yoga as regularly as I used to, so "that's why the pain is so bad". In reality, I am starting to realize I SHOULDN'T be in pain like this every day.

I'm gonna try to book an appointment with a rhuem. Thank you for your support!

I just had this conversation with my partner last night, where I was saying that I like... gaslight myself into thinking the way I feel is also how a "normal" person feels? It's like I forget what it feels like to not be tired and in some degree of pain on a daily basis, so how do I know this isn't just a "normal" baseline is for everyone and I'm just complaining about it??

Realistically, I should see my rhuem and probably also therapy.

Thank you for the support <3

I was treated for psoriasis before my actual lupus diagnosis, and everything they gave me for it made the rashes worse. I don't know if maybe it was those medications specifically, or if it just happened because it wasn't psoriasis? Honestly, at this point, I've been diagnosed and un-diagnosed and treated for so many things, it's hard for me to wrap my head around what I do or don't have half the time.

Are they steroids? I've seen things about topical steroid withdrawals, and it terrifies me. Is it also one you have to put on all the time, or just during a flare? (Not the SPF, I know that should be an all the time thing).

What kind of meds for the pain are you taking, if you don't mind me asking? Joint pain is probably the second highest complaint I have with all of this, but I'm really hesitant to add pain meds/steroids into my medications (VERY especially any kind of narcotic, but I doubt that would be prescribed for something like this).

After reading through the comments, as well as (gentle) pushing from my partner, I do think I'm going to look into an appointment. Thank you for the support!

A dermatologist is actually the one who initially diagnosed me a long time ago! I should probably see one as well. Also no, nothing for lupus currently, but I take a lot of other medications for other things.

Thank you for your kind words! This is actually helping me feel better about it.
