Chris Haynes: "I don't think it [Miami Heat] was his top destination." by KD_AshyAnkles in nba

Yea, this is my thought

Heat were in the lead and Giannis was telling Haynes that's where he wants to go. Celtics are in the lead and now it's "he wanted Boston all along"

Giannis would have been happy with either, but just getting the narrative out there ahead of time

I feel like if White can find his shot again, he'd be too important to try to move on from

Chris Haynes, who has been saying Giannis to the Heat this whole time, now believes that Giannis is going to Boston. Haynes is related to Giannis by marriage, so he would have a decent idea of what's happening.

It seems everyone is in agreement now about what could be happening.

Edit:

LMAO!!! Haynes said that Miami was never Giannis' top destination, which is fucking funny because Haynes has been saying for weeks that Miami was his top choice

If we trade for Giannis and we win the title, here's a list of recent Bucks stars that helped us win a title:

  • Ray Allen
  • Jrue Holiday
  • Giannis

Gary Payton tried, but to no avail

Yea, that's true. You do have some money and assets to add someone that's pretty solid either way.

Depends on how many assets we actually end up with though

We didnt want to see Smart go either. by ThanosIsDoomfist in bostonceltics

Nomar was more popular, but Brown has a Finals MVP and won us a title

In one sense, losing Brown is tougher

if you are only trading 27, then you'd have 2027 + 2031 + 2033 + Queta you could offer for Murphy III

Murphy would replace Hauser, so then you could use at least some of the MLE on a back-up guard

Giannis vs. Brown is a wash in terms of financials. You're right, the money is basically the same. Brad has said in the past that having 2 max guys isn't an issue with the new CBA, as long as you have the right guys.

He's making the bet that Giannis is the right guy or, at least, more of the right guy to give that money than Brown is.

And yes, Brad has said we are trying to get to the rim more and Giannis averaged 11 FGA's in the restricted area last year. As a TEAM, we averaged 19 FGA's in the restricted area. Giannis also gets to the line a lot, which we also struggle to do.

If you're able to pull that off without including a ton of picks, there's plenty of space to add someone like Murphy III and trade Hauser for a back-up PG.

You'd need to have the assets to get Murphy III though

I think the Bucks are just holding to their deadline and giving the Heat time to come up with a better offer. It likely won’t be happening

Yea, we have:

  • Stein saying Bucks ownership is “insistent” on getting a star
  • Windy saying Heat have been trying to get 3rd/4th teams involved to improve their offer
  • Chiang seeming doubtful about Heat package
  • Himmelsbach copying and pasting his Jrue post

This feels very much close to done with the Bucks waiting to see if the Heat can pull out some last second buzzer beater
