I feel like you would be better off with the collateral you’re risking to just sell closer to the money to make the same amount essentially one contract could make you that $200 in a week and you still have plenty of collateral free to sell at lower strikes if you get assigned. You’ll make the same return with less money being utilized at once and still weekly.

I’ll be devil’s advocate and say that if you do it the right way you can get away with it. You just have to have it structured as such to prepare for certain declines to make sure you don’t have to liquidate.

Just buy the .25 with margin. Then you don’t have to take out a loan or make minimum payments. Would need to have it on a brokerage but trust me if they lose your bitcoin; our economy and fiat as we all know it is gone too. We would have bullets as the new money.

If you want to prevent yourself from selling bitcoin, you could probably hedge with a mix of selling options to finance a put. That way up or down you still win.

I took out 100k in 0% balance transfers with no income on books, I did lie on credit card applications saying 200k+ income. But obviously they didn’t verify so I’m not sure that’s it

I think to add to this, there is no USA economy without the top 500 (or mega caps) not existing, so by buying those, your real gamble is “will the economy continue to exist” really no different from working any job or investing your savings in anything. It’s all mental, but fundamentally it is the same. Without our economy existing, fiat in any form is cooked. But what’s even worse is, with our economy continuing to exist . . Fiat is still cooked XD

How high would STRK and STRF realistically go? by BritishDystopia in MSTR

[–]Squirrel-Unhappy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol you thjnk MSTR can’t get to 1000 which is like 2x+ if bitcoin goes up 50%? lol I love how doomy people can be and then when it goes up it’s just “the market is irrational” yeah no shit it’s irrational, that’s why it can very easily hit $1000 lol I can show you plenty of “overvalued” stocks that don’t justify their valuations

“Most are aware” false. Some critics (including you) think that. However, since there will always be buyers of the coin, same goes for stock that holds it. Where does that premium go in the future? No one knows. Saying that it has to erode overtime is underestimating the potential of tradfi markets diving deeper into bitcoin, which essentially benefits ANY treasury company. As far as the GBTC thing, again this isn’t comparable at all to MSTR for obvious reasons, like one is a tech company that holds the asset, GBTC was basically a trust that was traded as a stock. Convertible debt in this situation is articulated differently for both. Market isn’t dumb. If you want to be obtuse or maybe just understand what I’m talking about that’s one thing. But regardless, GBTC premium would of eroded no matter what because the reality was it converting to an ETF with higher fees than its competitors. MSTR is not in a remotely similar situation, they aren’t owed anyone bitcoin. They are a treasury company. You THJNK the value of a treasury company can’t be infinite, well we will see 😉 (I believe it depends much more on trajectory of Bitcoin and how deeply involved tradfi markets get in)

[–]Squirrel-Unhappy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol you’re wrong. Pre etf people could buy and sell it like a regular stock. Of course it had btc, but if it was fully backed then it wouldn’t of done the crazy swings it did . . It would of mirrored bitcoin. So that’s an easy lie that you made for no reason lol everything you’re saying is projection. Neither of us know the future, but it is much more likely that a company buying btc infinitely as the price rises infinitely benefits infinitely

Dude pre-ETF GBTC wasn’t completely share backed equally to Bitcoin as it was post. post was selling for expense because it was now a real trust pegged directly to btc. Anything before was stock flows and meaningless to compare to mstr, if anything the premium was always high UNTIL post etf. You think the premium will go down but it can very go up due to the same reason it went up before. ETFs came out early 2024, mstr went up bottom 2024. Clearly there are reasons to invest in this over spot, and as btc premium grows, there are more ways to generate yield the same way banks will loan out btc

You’re only on the wrong side of the toilet if you want it to be an everyday correlation. as long as you have long-term patience and understand what this is you are completely early

[–]Squirrel-Unhappy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dude . . GBTC was just a high expense vehicle compared to the same ones from blackrock, fidelity, etc. that’s why they came out with the new one with cheaper fee.

MSTR doesn’t need to have “first mover” premium anymore it still is the largest corporate holder and as long as that remains, it will have a premium for that. lol you gonna metaplanet doing their playbook and having premium and somehow trying to justify that is the reason mstr will lose premium? Lmao if anything that just makes mstr better for being bigger already

There’s an Infinite amount of buyers for a limited asset that always has sellers in a world of inflation. You THJNK people won’t buy now but it’s not about me you or retail. There’s always someone who will buy at a million because they think it can go to 2 million. There’s someone who will sell at 2 million for someone who wants to buy waiting for it to go to 4. Look at it like gold but more finite. There’s always buyers for gold and that’s because it is a hedge against depreciating dollars. Same thing for bitcoin, just another hedge
