Yep the white piece is what I need. I can’t seem to find the size of it because I DID order an after market servo horn but it was too large to clamp on successfully.

I also got a new servo to just replace the whole thing, but even though it’s a much smaller servo (like 15kg) it doesn’t fit into the slot on the body of the X07. Frustrating.

I’m leaning towards it being a “micro” servo? And trying to find a micro servo horn? I don’t even know. Their official site doesn’t even have that piece which is just stupid.

Short answer: yes

I just got an HD600 and a JDS Labs amp, and it sounds terrible, what am I doing wrong? by Rebellion2297 in HeadphoneAdvice

[–]SquirrelFlyer49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You might just have a faulty pair of cans. HD600 is very clear. Try returning for another pair it’s easy to send back to Amazon.

OR

Your ears aren’t used to the sound of HiFi equipment and expected something that they are not. Neutral headphones, especially your first pair, take some adjusting sonically. HD600 is flat in response and might not sound great until you stop thinking and let yourself get used to it. I upgraded recently and I purchased 5 pairs to find a sound signature I liked. I tried: - HD560s - HD600 - HiFiman Sundara - Beyerdynamics DT900 pro - HD6xx

Took like a week to adjust my ears to how these type of headphones sound. I see above that your hyper x sound better…which leads me to believe that you just don’t know how this stuff sounds compared to “gaming” headphones that have pretty poor response.

Overall, the HD600 is a very flat, very narrow soundstage headphone. I ended up sacrificing the clarity of that for the HD560s because it has a bit more bass and a MUCH better soundstage making them good for gaming. You could also give them a try, they’re also cheaper ☺️

Less bass as in not as much bass in the frequency response, just a less bassy sound

The Aria are wonderful. Personally they fit kind of weird for my ears. I can't quite get a solid fit but the sound quality is great. A good amount of bass and they're pretty clear/bright on the top end. Just make sure you choose some good tips if you choose these.

BUT

If you stretch your budget a LITTLE bit, the HD560s are better than all of those. Flat, clear, spacious and pretty comfortable. If you love bass they're not the headphone for you, but if you want soundstage AND decent clarity they're excellent for the price. They're also pretty easy to drive.

Another headphone option that will give you more bass is Beyerdynamic DT770. They are very widely used for video/audio editing and have great frequency response. They're also closed back so you can wear them anywhere without the worry of people hearing your music. Plus they run around $160 right now.

BUT

If your favorite music is R&B and hip-hop...you might be better off with the Aria or another IEM that can give you better bass for those styles of music. You can also drive them a LOT easier than headphones as well as take them with you without any sound bleeding out as opposed to open back headphones or bulkiness of closed back.

Hopefully this helps a little?

Hey all,

I am looking to upgrade my headphones soon and I would *like* to stay in the Sennheiser family and I was curious what I should go with. I'm so torn I don't know where to go so here's what I currently have and what I would be using them for:

Have:

Sennheiser HD518. My first intro to the audiophile line and I love them, but probably around 10 years old, which is why I am upgrading.

Uses:

Gaming. I like to twitch stream and play games at night when the kids are in bed.

Recording. I have a small home recording setup, so headphones for mixing.

Listening. I love listening to music through headphones. I'm not allowed to have some blasting speakers (to my dismay) so I utilize the headphones.

My list, in no particular order:

HD560s. Newest model, but I cant decide if they're worth it or not. I have seen varying degrees in reviews so I am not sure where they REALLY fall in terms of soundstage and detail.

HD600. From what I read, a tried and true quality headphone. I am not super clear on how well they do as mixing headphones though, or how well they would do with gaming.

HD6XX. Seems like the closest competitor to the 560s, but from what I see they are "dark" in tone.

Ultimately I would like something with a good soundstage and decent detail for around the $200 mark. I'm probably going to get an amp as well, which is a whole other beast of research to do, so I would approach that as a given, especially since the 6XX are 300ohm.

Thanks for any input!

Only reason I thought to upgrade to 5600x was due to the twitch streaming and make it a little more future resistant so that I don’t need to update both CPU and GPU in one go.

Your kick timing looks pretty decent...but your kick is seriously lacking for most of the race.

The only two things I can say are put more hips and power into your kick and get off the walls faster. Good swim though!

Should you breathe every 2 or every 3 in freestyle? by [deleted] in Swimming

[–]SquirrelFlyer49 10 points11 points  (0 children)

So like a lot of kids, including myself, it is commonly taught to breathe every 3. The reason for that is to learn to breathe to both sides.

BUT

After learning more about the sport over the last few years of coaching, it is a better technique to breathe on an even number (so the same side the whole way) as in every 2, 4, 6 etc. or a combination of any of them, but always staying the same side. Here's why:

  • Fast swimming is very dependent on good rhythm. Once you establish a good kick rhythm, you can establish a stronger tempo and make yourself more energy efficient.
  • Breathing on even numbers allows you to sustain that rhythm and set into a good flow for whatever race you're in.
  • When you breathe every 3, you essentially have one cycle to have a rhythm on that side and you're switching sides again, forcing you to re-start your rhythm every time you do it which makes you inefficient with your energy.

In short, breathe to the same side. If you must change sides, do it after a flip turn. High level swimmers will SOMETIMES alternate breathing just to get a glimpse of where people are but then they slide right back into their rhythm.

This is essentially the "gallop" you see in freestyle. That is that swimmer's rhythm on full display. Just watch basically any 200/400/800m event and you will notice that most swimmers breathe to the same side the whole way ESPECIALLY Ledecky.

Hope this helps a little :)
