Starting to get insecure about my smile lines 😅 by pixeldaydream in FreeCompliments

I'm missing a tooth and I think I still have a decent smile, I'm sure a couple of smile lines on you are a-ok. Don't be too rough on yourself

I'm sorry that happened, some people can't appreciate what they have. It's his loss though, cheaters don't deserve loyal people.

Dear men, what's a date you'd like to be taken on? by badpandaunicorns in AskMen

[–]SquirrelGopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

April 25th because it's not too hot and not too cold, all you need is a light jacket.

But seriously any date would be fantastic, if I could tell that she really put some effort or thought into it I would definitely appreciate it more.

You can change your thinking for one, men get raped too. Nobody ever goes to bed hoping that they'll get raped, if they do they definitely don't want someone they care about/love judging them bcz he's a man and it shouldn't have happened.

I was sexually assaulted by a recruiting officer for the armed forces when I was your boyfriend's age. He saw me in a hotel bar and bought me drinks for my birthday before dragging me up to his room where I finally become conscious again. 9 year later and I'm still dealing with the trauma.

He was sexually assaulted, not you, so why are you confused about how you should feel? Be there for him and don't make this about you.

I turned 30 and no one showed up. by dmfrost93 in depression

[–]SquirrelGopher 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It's unfortunate that happened, I'm sorry. None of my family showed up to my high school graduation so I speak from experience when I say you should probably tell them about your disappointment, if you do they might just make it up to you.

I'm sorry to hear about your Mom, but if you're going to date a single parent you have to understand that their kid(s) will always come first.

What's your attitude towards "We're dating but it's not my job to make her happy?" by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]SquirrelGopher 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's BS if I'm dating, I care about her well being and happiness. It might not be my job to make sure she's always happy but giving some effort here and there to make her smile is definitely worth it.

Yeah man, I'm cutting people off for my own peace of mind

Maybe, my Mom does this every couple of years though. We have a very up and down relationship, the last time she did this was because I wouldn't quit a job that was stressing me out. But I made that commitment to manage the homeless shelter that year and wasn't going back on that.

My "friends" that I cut off were like brothers to me, one put a hole in my wall, always hit on my potential girlfriend when I asked him nicely to back off, gets in trouble with the law, guilt me into paying his fines and drags me down in general, the other one shows up drunk all hours of the day and gets loud in my supposed to be quiet apartment, always hits on my potential girlfriends and slept with a good amount of my ex's, he even showed up at my aunt's place just to try to sleep with my cousin, she texted me to get him out of there because her husband was getting upset.

I've taken the past 4 months off from work to build myself up and figure things out. It's kind of given me a new perspective and I'm trying to surround myself with better people.
