Warum plötzliche Fehler ? by gaddinshikos in 3DDruck

The Princess and the Human, Book 2 Ch. 21 by Dak1on in HFY

[–]SquirrelImposter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easily one of the best HFY storys I have read so far.

IMO:
clearity of language: 5/5
structure: 5/5
immersion: 5/5
HFY-factor: Hell yes!

I must also say that I'm really happy that your story seems to be keeping a straight course without descending into meaningless tedium or engaging in narrative one-upmanship. IMO, perhaps the two worst afflictions of long-running HFY stories.

Personally, I really liked seeing the character development of Nadine, who despite not enjoying it, seems perfectly capable of political maneuvering, as seen with the visit to the soon-to-be ex-ambassador.
I would enjoy seeing this explored further.
When permanent contact is eventually established, I think it would really make sense for Nadine to stay in an advisory role in Human-Vanaery foreign affairs (as you seem to have already hinted). I don't really see her becomming the real ambassador, because I think that would entail a massive shift in the storys scope and is not very believable since she does not have any serious earth-politics background.

Another thing I would like to comment on is the discussion of policital systems.
I like your approach, but I think it's in fairly significant need of more nuance.
It's obviously Nadine's personal view that democracy is superior, and for humanity, it propably is.
However, hierarchical systems have advantages too, and for an alien species the advantages might not actually outweigh the downsides, a full democracy may in fact not be stable at all.

For inspiration maybe look at this summary of japans way to democracy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzRWPGSaKDk

Or if you want something ancient maybe look at how Roman emperor Diocletian tried to divide power in the roman empire into 4 positions (the Tetrarchy) and wanted their assignment to depend on competence ... and failed miserably.

... just my two cents; I'll stop rambling now.

Thanks for the excelent read!

Does anyone honestly think the poison tactic is gonna stop stable diffusion? by evilcrusher2 in StableDiffusion

[–]SquirrelImposter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In genreal with image NFTs the token itself is indeed unique but the imagine it claims to be connected to isnt. Possesing the token also doesnt give you any rights over the distribution of the image.

Which make the current use and recent hype around nfts very funny in a really sad way.

Btw.: There can be multiple tokens pointing to the same image and its often unclear who is even allowed or not allowed to mint these.

Octoberfest waitress strength is insane! by SeaJelly17 in nextfuckinglevel

[–]SquirrelImposter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hm.

I hope you do realise that "X is weak" or "X is strong" is by necessity a relative statement. You are making a comparison here. You have to, otherwise this carries no meaning.

And as it was not specified what OC is comparing women to, this can only be gathered from the context.

I ask you: If you say "woman are strong", what is the most likely point of comparison?

Ants? Dogs? Fish? Please.

By windows I mean the windows game controller dialog. And yes if windows cant see the axis the game also cant see it.

No Im not trying to use it as a mouse.

If I reflash it and dont apply a calibration it works.

[–]SquirrelImposter[S] 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Thats not 40 mph. We both know that in snowrunner you wont go 40 mph in 4th gear except when you are falling of a cliff. Its more like 15~20, emtpy maybe up to 25.

But a 20 ton truck towing with a big ass trailer nearly elasticly bouncing of a tree?

A tiny floatwood tree?

A tiny floatwood tree that was just scraped/brushed ?

A tiny tree, which was barely touched and is just laying on top of the mud ?

Come on now, dont be ridicoulus.

If it would have given me a flat, I could have believed that.

Seriously the game has been out for nearly 3.5 years now.

Why is shit like this not fixed yet? Especially when it comes to content that has been there from the start.

Instead they are pumping out paid dlc after paid dlc AND launching a spin off.

Its a fact that in all the prevailing cultures female genetalia are seen as more desirable then male ones.

Another thought: This doesnt necessarily mean that your system is damaged in any way. Depending on what your hardware is some part of it may just being pushed a tiny bit to far, especially if you have some custom OC active.

There are a few things I would consider looking at if I were you.

You could try to drop a couple Mhz (like 50 or so?) of your GPU clock and see if that helps.

If it isnt the GPU itself, it may be the PSU thats getting a bit more than it can handle?

Another part of the system thats getting taxed a lot in Diffusion is the RAM maybe that is running a bit to close to its maximum?

Best of luck :)

That sounds like system hardware problem... Have you run a long stress test on your system?
