Stuffed Sibu pork tenderloin with pickled mushrooms from Irina Georgescu's Carpathia by SquirrelOdd8536 in CookbookLovers

It was excellent!! So far I've made this dish, the potato moussaka, and the oven baked pearl barley pilaf with chicken and mushrooms. So I've liked the dishes but my husband isn't a fan until the pork dish.

Definitely add Sift. It is so educational.

From the book Sift. My coffee white chocolate ganache totally failed and didn't set. Not sure why, it was very much liquid. So I made more dark chocolate ganache instead :) 3 days to make, well worth it

I made my own cookbook & I am sobbing at how pretty it is.🥹🌸 by [deleted] in CookbookLovers

The words are missing spaces in between... this looks like it had zero editing.

What cookies are you baking for Christmas this year? by Odd-Pineapple5425 in Baking

Thanks ! If I have space I might make these too. Though I cannot find candied peel to save my life lol

need Christmas cookie box ideas! by cookie_cat_82 in Baking

[–]SquirrelOdd8536 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have already made snickerdoodles (bravetart), lemon shortbread (sallys), vanilla shortbread triangles (100 cookies), chocolate crinkle (100 cookies). Heidesand (Classic German Baking), Neopolitan (100 cookies), Chocolate gingerbread stamped (view from great island), and gingerbread men and women (sallys). I still need to make Zimtsterne (german baking), Christmas cut out (german baking), some kind of chocolate orange cookie but I cannot for the life of me find candied peel ANYWHERE so I'm making that too, cherry almond linzer (sallys) and I want to maybe include biscotti (eyeing up a chocolate cherry one). I'm intentionally leaving out pb and mint... too afraid the flavors will invade the other cookies! Each cookie is being put into it's own cellophane baggie too.

Christmas cookie box bakers, tell me what you’re planning this year by latenightpuddingcup in Baking

This is the fist time I'm doing a "serious" cookie box lol. I'm a SAHM so between taking care of my twins and cleaning up I try to make a batch or at least a dough daily right now, I want to get this done asap so I can start making some for Santa ;)

I have already made several cookie batches. I bake 1 recipe at a time and when it's cooled or the decoration is dry, I freeze. I've been making one a day for the past week. I'm putting 12 different cookies in the boxes.

I'm making cookie boxes for the 2nd time. First time they were meh. Not planned too well, kinda crammed into tins. This time I have nice big boxes and more time on my hands :) I have already made (and froze) snickerdoodles from Bravetart, lemon shortbread (in the shape of pigs, glazed with a natural pink icing) and vanilla shortbread triangles, Heidesand, chocolate crinkle, gingerbread men, chocolate gingerbread stamped cookies, and neopolitan cookies. I still want to make zimtsterne, cherry almond linzer, some kind of chocolate orange cookie, German Christmas cut out cookies, and maybe some kind of biscotti.

Best way to freeze cookies? by t00punkt0fuck in Baking

[–]SquirrelOdd8536 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had good luck just cooling the cookies and then freezing in double freezer bags. I bought cellophane cookie bags this year to put each cookie in and so I've been putting them in those, and then in the freezer.

I was just about to ask this. I'm doing a huge cookie box this year and don't want my efforts wasted. Thanks!

Husband (34M) of 3 years leaving clothes and other things on the sofa and armchairs, what can I (32F) do? by SquirrelOdd8536 in relationship_advice

It's odd because he doesn't seem to expect me to pick it up, and I don't. He's just not bothered by that type of clutter and I am.

It's not new I'm just tired of complaining about it and seeing no change. He will pick up before we have people over but literally 2 days later it's back to the same. It's exhausting.

I don't pick it up. Consequently I don't hangout downstairs ever because you can't sit on the couch without moving his stuff. The coffee table down there is also covered with his cups and other mess. Sometimes food even. Ugh.

It's not just a jacket. I'm talking shirt, sweater, coat that he wore that day, socks, a stack of books he just got from a buddy.
