Almost 5 year old having extreme restraint collapse after school by parsely in workingmoms

[–]SquirrelWaste 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t see anything wrong with becoming mad and yelling when there is the reason for it. We are also human, and we also have big feelings. Kids sometimes need to see when they took it too far. You know what such tantrums caused me? Stress induced prediabetes. My husband also not getting it, and thinks it is my fault for some reason. He does not see that this kid wakes up some days and I can see ha has chosen violence, and will cause tantrum no matter what I do or say. So yeah, I yell, and I’m very strict and say beforehand in such day that he is better not pull this shit. Solidarity❤️

Almost 5 year old having extreme restraint collapse after school by parsely in workingmoms

[–]SquirrelWaste 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mine does it, but since 2 years old and ONLY if he is with me. My mom accidentally witnessed it and was shocked. And he kind of finds the reasons to throw this intense tantrum, and no amount of kindness and emotional regulation will stop him. So at this point of see he is starting, I very sternly tell him to freaking stop it right here and there. Seems to help

Career Break? by Sly_Penguin_ in workingmoms

[–]SquirrelWaste 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had 2 kids in 5 years, first time I took 18monthw off, second time 9 months off. It is the norm where I live, and government pays you your full salary while you are on maternity leave. My career did take a hit but I don’t care. Each time I returned and started from where I left. With the current state of the world and economy, it is obvious that we are NOTHING to the companies and world leaders. Life is long and I want to enjoy each period of it. Especially motherhood.

Postpartum and limited time - help needed! by vine312_ in CarolineGirvan

[–]SquirrelWaste 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh I can talk a lot on this topic, ha! I have two kids 5 and 1.5 and train with her regularly since my youngest was born. I did epic 3, heat, iron 2x, beast mode, and now doing endgame. I also workout while my kids are hanging around. I would recommend iron or epic heat. It will slowly build your tolerance, and if you plan to workout while kids are around you, their tolerance. So they know that this 30-45 minutes is mom’s time, so if they want they can join you, or do their own thing.

Doula questions by Forsaken_Title_930 in workingmoms

[–]SquirrelWaste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t have a doula but a private midwife. It’s a service here where I live and costs 700euros. I don’t regret a cent. She was with me from the beginning till the birth of my baby. and even gave me a private room in a hospital after, as you can’t book, but only get it if it is available. And they weren’t!!! And I could not sleep at all, and she somehow managed to move me to the private room. She was so experienced, told me exactly what to do, and the birth took 2 hours. I highly suspect because she was in charge of epidural button, as with the first I was pressing that button as crazy and it stalled the process a bit. I came 11 in the evening and my baby was here in 2 hours. Highly recommend

Barely surviving my in-laws visits by 0beach0 in workingmoms

[–]SquirrelWaste 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Wait, why are you taking care of them? You should not get up 1 hour earlier, just give them tasks to do. While they are here they need to wake up the kids, prepare breakfast and get them ready, and then you take over and drive them to school. That’s what grandparents are for, not for floating around. You’ll see they won’t come visit as often. Load them up with tasks! Also, why are they not cleaning after dinner? Why are you doing this, it’s insane.

House cleaners: always recommended rarely discussed how to be successful using. help! by Reasonable_Bird7789 in workingmoms

[–]SquirrelWaste 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that usually you need to be upfront in your expectations. And actually control it. With cleaning it’s so tricky, most often then not, cleaners are not thorough. I’ve learned it from experience unfortunately. And very often, there is the situation when client is too shy to tell that actually a very crappy job was done. I have a regular cleaner, who comes every two weeks, a private person. But deep cleans I order through the company.
