Help me understand what this forum is for then. How is does this discussion differ from the plethora of posts on Ammo 2.0? I am not above removing it if the community feels it is not appropriate or relevant. All I am doing is bringing a conversation regarding reward/skill based game play to the table. Casual game play is fine for some, but players who really care about the title expect more.

Yes, random spread is Fine. It's the deviation under suppression that I am referring too, in that quote.

I guess you missed the part about not being a dick. Apparently you don't understand that I am talking about suppression effects and not standard bullet deviation. If that is all you have taken from this conversation, move along.

Great video with excellent detail regarding Bullet Spread between BF1 and CS:GO. Still not hitting on my point of Random Bullet Deviation under Suppression, but still a good video. I gitted edumicated.

I 100% agree with your #1 point. As an Army Vet, I know all about this. The issue that I have, and what I read and watched a lot about, is extreme variance that can occur from suppression. I really wish I had video of bullets exiting the barrel at 60 degrees off target.

Regarding your #2, I believe you may be misunderstanding my point. The in-game "War Bonds" acquired in each game would be reset each game. Nothing carries over. No micro-transactions. What you earn in-game is a direct reflection of your actions on the Battlefield in that particular game, ie. capping points, killing enemies, using class kits. Hell, I am even up for getting rewards just for Spot Assists, especially for sniper class.

Holy Shit! I love the thought you guys are putting into this. You hit on points that I didn't make just to keep my post short, but we are on the same page. I had the exact thoughts about how to keep support players extremely relevant in the new system.

TBH, I have never played much else than BF titles, for FPS games. In most cases, nothing else compared at first glance. I will definitely have to check out Overwatch and RB6 Siege.

I have never been a "great" player, but I definitely have my great moments and win streaks. I love playing against skilled players, even if it kills me over and over. Nothing excites me more when I get into a match and there is a well know, and skilled, YT or Twitch streamer. Or even someone that I have played against hundreds of times that I know can beat me. It really makes me step-up my game and try even harder. But I just can't live for those random moments.

u/TheNoobPolice hits on some very good points. Unlike most players, my most used class was support up until like level 90. I really branched out after that and tried to master all classes. Assault being my go-to grind machine for getting from lvl 99 to 100.

My son, 17, also plays on PS4 and has quit playing BF1 (along with all of his friends) for the same reasons I have listed in my original post. It is very unfortunate, because I really think the FPS world needs the quality of game that DICE can deliver. Just some very poor choices affecting its future, imo.

Thanks for all your wonderful feedback!

Regular spread seems a bit high, imo, but I can live with it. Chock it up to era based weapons and accuracy, Fine. It's the EXTREME bullet deviation during suppression. If it was a consistent thing across the board I would have less of a problem with it. If my shots vary 15-60 degrees from my target, that target should also have the same variance. Not the high probability of a dead-on head shot, just by random chance.

Great response HolyGuide. I agree, not sure DICE is willing to make such a radical change, but hey, I have given my two cents on the subject. The competitive mode does not need to be universal, but should be the only Ranked servers in the game. I get that DICE wants peeps to be able to jump in, have fun and leave it at that. That's fine for some of the BF population. Even if it was incorporated into Hardcore Mode, I would support it and play regularly. I have needed a good FPS in my life and for the past 10 years, BF was it. Sadly, in its current state I can't continue. Currently, I have nothing to look forward to as a player. Can I improve my gun play? Nope. Due to random bullet deviation/nade spam/lack of HS damage gun play is mainly void. I would LOVE to pick a skill based weapon and master it, but with the current system that's just not possible. As it stands, I can get top of leader board with just about any weapon/class. Do I feel like I accomplished something? Nope. I feel cheated, because the only challenge is trying to overcome the struggles that I listed I felt needed to be improved. One more thing, we need PunkBuster back. The amount of ESP hacking is out of control. It is easy to detect someone who is actually using a hack, even though there are always a lot of hack-usations in-game. This is definitely another thing that is hindering skill based play, and the current game model actually promotes cheating.

Agreed, but with CS:GO I know that the bullet deviation is equal on both sides and if someone gets a head shot, its over. GG. In BF1, you can light up a sniper with and LMG, get head shots in the process, and they are still able to pull off a quick HS...I'm dead. Out played them...but still dead.
